Jupiter Jazz: Battlefleet Gothic Mini-Tournament, South London, March 14, 2015 Hello – so recently I’ve been finding out there is quite a few more BFG players in London than I thought. People who have fleets collecting dust, or have stumbled into BFG later on, or are like me returners with ebay accounts and a vague memory of exploding spaceship fun.
So anyway – how about a Mini-Tournament at Dark Sphere? (Elephant and Castle / North Lambert in South London, UK). Likely date is Sat 14 March 2015.
1) A friendly tournament where new players or those ‘not expert’ on the rules are welcome.
2) 1250 point games. ‘Death Match Style’ fleet engagements following normal victory points, no disengaging; fight to the death. Aiming for 3 games each during the day.
3) BFG:R rules (as found on Afterimagedan
http://tinyurl.com/nnj2zzf ) (though if you prefer you may take BRB Eldar – please notify if you are using a fleet no covered by the above/other preferences as I’m sure they can be accommodated) + Any models you like (appropriately based and preferably painted). For fun, a refit will be rolled at the beginning of the tournament for your flagship.
4) £5 Entry to cover table fees and pizza at half time. Please bring as much tokens/dice/scenery as you can!
5) Prize for the winner.
6) 6 places in total, though room for expansion if there is demand.
The theme of the tournament will be the capture of the ‘Jupiter Drive’, a Dark Age of Technology interstellar engine coil design - recently unearthed by Tech-priest in the archives of a fortress world. As traitor forces rush the area, pirates take advantage of the chaos to progress their own clandestine plans.
The tournament will likely run from 11am – 6pm – this may in fact be tight for 3 games, though I will move things along if stuff starts to drag.
If you would like to enter – please post your name and fleet below and PM me your email / contact number. Later on I will ask for people’s fleet list and for them to designate a flag ship. You are also encouraged to post any paragraphs on fluff or tactical thoughts either pre or post tournament as I believe such content helps to foster awareness and interest in the specialist games community. The mini-tournament is designed first and foremost for a way for players to have fun and meet other enthusiasts. Join up today!
