[WM] Chaos vs Orcs
« on: October 31, 2016, 11:29:35 AM »
Sunday evening I met with dry_erase and industrialtrousers at the Titans wargaming club in Finchley in North London.
We played 2k - my Orcs vs industrialtrousers' Chaos (those look even better in "flesh" vs the fotos).

The Dragon Ogres basically smashed any plan my orc general did not have to begin with but they also took a significant part of my army down. As such my breakpoint of 11 was reached by the end of the 4th round.

It was a fun evening and it was good to get back in wargaming after a long time. The Titans club is a great place and right next to the West Finchley tube station. Would be keen to arrange more of those especially if there are other warmaster playiers lurking in London?

I have posted some pictures on the FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/185937199904/10154803698119905/

Thanks very much for an enjoyable game cobber.

I came away thinking that there's a great deal to learn. The rules I could be better with, but it largely tactical errors where you get a few pointers on what to avoid next time. Large units of Orcs and ogres in defended positions are dangerous - do not attack, and don't believe everything you hear about orc low leadership being a problem.

After looking at your orcs I think I might have to revisit mine and tidy the painting up a bit as they aren't near as good.

It was a lot of fun - thanks to industrialtrousers for letting me play alternate turns, thanks to athensfantasy for a good game and thanks to the dragon ogres for pretty much turning the game!

I was left with a feeling that I've no idea how to beat a Chaos army with my undead. Any suggestions?
