Test rules for storm of chaos characters-low powered

Warmaster storm of chaos special characters.

Note this is an attempt to use the SOC characters in Warmaster with some extra flavour lining up with the fluff as much as possible while not created over powered super characters that will greatly impact the tactics or playability of the game.

As a result all the SOC characters are at the cost of the associated character type +25 points.  None may be equipped with a monstrous mount but each may take a magic item as usual.  Mannfred and Teclis may take wizard items.

Note that some powers are arguably better then others, (primarily Teclis and Valten) for example Valten having the power of what a sword of might does for 5 extra points.  I feel this evens out because the 2 armies that can have non General characters (HE and Empire) also have an available general character and because Valten could be made into a character more powerful then the average General with but a magic item while Teclis, although his power is a one off, arguably becomes the strongest wizard in the game (+1 roll once, high elf reroll and can take an item if desired).

Please give me some feedback if you liked this or think of a tweak after reading the whole thing and weighing it out in your mind.

Archaon the Everchosen

He who will one day fell the gods.

Chaos General who causes terror.

Mannfred Von Carstein

Ancient and terrible grasp on the dead.

Vampire Lord who can reroll spells (1 reroll attempt/turn and a 1 can't be rerolled, similar to a high elf wizard/slann).

Louen King of Bretonnia

Always forward for the lady.

Bretonnian General who, if he joins a unit, caused it to be immune to terror, confusion and falling back.

Prince Tyrion

Mighty warlord.

High Elf General who once per game can cause all friendly stands within 20 cm to gain +1 attack.

Teclis

Most learnt of wizards.

High Elf wizard who once per game can add +1 to a spell roll.

Karl Franz the Emperor

Protect the emperor!

Empire General who, when he joins a unit, can cause the unit to discard 1 taken hit per turn.

Valten, prophet of Sigmar

Tireless warrior.

Empire Hero who provides +2 attacks rather then +1.

You might want to redo the ones that require the general to join a unit. It's typically a game ending move to do so.

I like this too.  It would be good to expand the special characters beyond the SoC model selection, covering other armies and possible more choices for each army.  e.g. Wood Elves Orion + Hounds proxy here: http://eurekamin.com.au/product_info.php?cPath=87_100_101&products_id=10834.  Any other special character proxies out there?!

As not all powers are the same, I'd prefer a points vs benefits framework for applying to characters which can be used by any army.  i.e. similar to magic items.  This seems more fair to me.  This could be used to create a selection of pre-defined fluff special characters.  Or players could develop their own special characters over scenarios and campaigns.

Didn't Teclis and Tyrion allready receive "official" rules" in Warmaster Magazine? (Article: Battles of Legend.)
