Of course CT Yankee I also introduce very frecuently house rules and new units and do not wait to someone print them to use them.  :)

Lex also suggested a very intersant variant for house rules that allow this kind of charges... I see it very attractive and that makes me think about use it in a game with the S&S. The mood is very fantastic, a regiment of crossbowmen shooting to the sky while a dragon or a griffon pass over to charge some cannons in the hill... I like the scene  8)

My opinion with regard to flyers did not change over the years now.

They are to strong and dominating battlefields
Their movement range is to wide. (would restrict to 80cm maximum)
I would restrict their charging range to 60cm.

Just my cent

We play it like this: if a unit can see (from a level to another or lower level), it is allowed to charge. No exceptions.
All else seem wrong and gamey on the rule-writers behalf/doing.
Sorry if someones toes got stepped on.  :-\
