Tale of Warmaster Painters [January - the final countdown!]
« on: January 03, 2010, 09:02:04 PM »
Happy New Year to all of you that have made it this far (Have I? I'm not sure!).

It looks like the final finishing-up period has begun so this is the last thread of the inaugral TOWP in which I hope we might have time to see a few new units and perhaps a final army shot from everyone.

When I'm back in the UK I'll be finishing up the units I've started and posting my admittedly rather hero/warmachine heavy 1000 points.

When the dust settles it'll be onto TOWP 2 in February...

Nothing yet this year? My progress has also slowed down this year. Up to now I have only managed to prime two units of skeleton cavalry. Not so much...
Anybody knows where I can find the older threads for the previous months please?

Well, here's my final Empire force for the tale, it's a legal army at least even if it doesn't quite meet my initial hopes (I thought I'd be at 2000 pts!):

Hi to all folks!

Lot of time apart from the hobby. Well... I guess the challenge is over. And I did not success in painting all the bare metal army, but I have to say that this past months had been a lot fun, very interesting and I have to congratulate pw to start this Tale. I really really enjoy all your projects, armies, paintings and chat!

Wow, I should say that the Azrael impress me a lot for his effort and nice painting, also I have learn a lot with your (all the participants) enthusiasm in the hobby.

I am going to post two pictures to close my Tale participation. The first pic is my undead army before the tale... well... I did not have any skelli paint (except a Granadier giant bone), but was great to play test the rules. Second is a pic after the tale. I do not have any pic of the static army, it was during a siege game this Xmas (my only game in xmas), but I think you could feel the taste of the army.

Again: thanks a lot for the tale to all of you. Unfortunatly I could not compromise to the next tale, but I read your for sure! :), when I take again the brushes I will try to finish the undead proyect in the normal thread of Jchaos projects.

Greetings!

I am really happy I had a chance to participate in the "Tale". It helped me a lot to focus on painting properly and thanks to that I managed to paint so many units (at leas for me :) ). It was a great thing to observe the progress of other participants. All your work is great! Probably that's why I had rarely something else to add than "I like your painting!" :)

I have some more elves to paint but I think this time I simply will keep updating my own topic. I believe the "Tale" is more about new projects. I hope to join you all with some historical miniatures at some stage. Until then I will definitely enjoy second tale of x painter as a spectator. Many thanks to all of you! Below you can see all the units I completed during the "Tale".

Fabulous stuff all round.

@jchaos: it's great to see you back! It's been a while since I've spotted you on here. I'm really entertained by the look of your siege game (and the elephant), it all looks great fun and makes me want to get myself a castle all the more.

@swordmaster: So much stuff painted! You've made my efforts look very weak indeed... I'll be watching your elf thread with interest.

And finally, BlackEd, that stuff is just mental! Great imagination, great execution and great painting. I particularly like the luminous paint on your biggest Daemon, it looks eerily 'real'....
