Thoughts on an amazon list!
« on: July 15, 2010, 02:59:59 PM »
My regular opponent has his eye on the pendraken amazon range.
So we are toying with a lustrian campaign.
Utilising the main armies along with the pygmy rules from warmaster magazine.

Has anyone here attempted to draw up an amazon list in the past?
I know the setting of warmaster would not really allow for such an army, but any thoughts are appreciated.

Cheers
Mick

Sorry with the mess of the columns, but it does not copy paste properly.

the list had been made some time ago, so I am not sure if it is very well constructed, but maybe you can take some idea. It also include the pendraken ref number we had thought for the units.

We include wings as a upgrade of hero, making him flyer, as pendraken had a reference of birdmens you could take the wings and attach to another hero

Now this is just freaky  :-\
My thoughts on the matter was a purely amazonian list with a few male slaves.
You posted your list J just before my friend came for our weekly game.
So I gave it a quick glance and wondered why you had use barbarians.
Then my friend came with his list that was larger than yours but also used barbarians  ??? ::) ;D

As it stands we are going to move forward with the amazon/barbarian list (not very fluffy).
To enforce the female rule thing we were thinking of a similar mechanic to the bret breakpoint limit i.e. only amazonian troops count towards it and basing a lot of the barbarian stats on Stomm's norse list.

I will let you know how it progresses.

That was another thought I had.
But as with any new potential list, I want to make it as unique as possible whilst not introducing any new or game breaking special rules.

Code: [Select]
Amazons       vs Lizardmen

Drop coldblooded, add normal command structure + hero/wizard choices. Magic mixes saurian magic with empire

Basic Warrior -  lizzies
Missle troops -  dark elf missiletroops
Pygmies        -  skinks, allow them to be joined by Giant Posion Frog (cf Salamander)
Mounted warrior  -  coldone riders, just dont mount them on Cold ones, by eg. on sabertooths or other beasties not being horsies
Artillery         -  Basic Reapter Bolt throwers, but you could opt to use the old imagery and portray them with blasters
Flyers           -  Mounted on terradons ?  even better mount them on a featered snake !
Hunting cats  -  Monsters

Big Monster    - Coaxtl

To be clear, I am steering away from the Killerladies from outer-space version that GW used to cater for....

That is great.
So does anyone have any ideas on where to track down some sabre tooth cats in 10mm?
I thought magister militum did some, but it looks like the only thing they don't do :(
They do have some very nice terror birds and reptiles that could be used as mounts or monsters.

Really, I think I have some sabre tooth from magister millitum. Need to search them and have a pic of them. I think they are 15mm... but when I bought them it doesn't seems to me soo large to not using them with 10mm.
