Okay,
So a diving charge happens when within 1 inch of the base of a building IIRC, pass your initiative tests for every full 2 inches, if successful you land in base contact and strike at +1 to hit and +1 strength in the first round of combat. The question I have involves pulling off a diving charge when you are on a ground level at the beginning of the round, but when it comes time for you to move other charges have been moved first and are blocking your path to the model you've declared a charge against. If a path exists whereby you can move and get to a higher vantage point above the model to then diving charge into base contact, are you able to do this legally?
E.g. Your path is now blocked by 3 friendly members who have engaged the model in a narrow alley, one square on and two corner to corner. You have to charge the opponent in the most direct way possible assuming you have movement left to reach, but because you declared the charge at the beginning of the turn you can't change the charge target. Assuming that no other enemy models are in range to intercept you at all, and that terrain is set up in such a way that you are able to freely move up to a level of a ruin/building or other terrain piece above the target model, would you be able to move up there, get to the top and diving charge off into combat? You can't get to the model directly but there are stairs you passed leading to a level of a ruin around the other side of this low wall, you vault the wall, run up the stairs, reach the edge and dive into combat as your friends engage head to head.
Thoughts?
