Witch Hunter vs Chaos 1500 points
« on: December 30, 2010, 08:07:09 PM »
Last day I had a game versus Enabji and his witch hunter army. I had the pleasure of being beated by his fabulous army!

Chaos advance with a chaos warrior brigade and witchhunter arcabusiers and cannon take the hill. Also a brigade of handgunners and zelots take a crop field -count as defended position-

With a few succesful orders Chaos general manage to charge: The chaos knights against the arcabusier in the hill, the marauder horsemen into a brigade compose of 4 flagellant units and two chaos warrior supported by maraudrers to the zelot brigade into the crop field

Cavalery charge has not been very much succesfull, all were repelled making little casualties. The infantry can manage make hurt but not aniquilate the humans in the cropfield.

Witch hunter cavalery charge to the marauders killing them

Chaos warriors enter in the cropfield with the intention of killing all the humans they could see, but they were outnumberred for the fanatic anti chaos-globalizated

Chaos marauders horsemen also were outnumbered by flagellants and zelots and killed, meanwhile the chaos warriors were repelled by fire and bullets

The battle was going very well for Mathiew the WitchFinder General, so he took a rest in the middle of the battle to make some justice with a village girl found in the nearbis accused to be a witch

Empire pistoliers repelled a deamon chaos warrior unit into the woods, his presence in the nearbies of the trolls force them to charge. But the trolls did not thought that a horse can run faster than his legs so he could not manage to make so much hurt.

So the time is over, Witch huntes 650 vicotory points and chaos 280... a great battle.

Hope you enjoyed it!!

As I manage to see as his chaos opponent, it is an horde army with the strong points:

- high breakpoint

- possibility of brigade 4 flagellants.... very strong. I attacked the brigade with 2 chaos marauders in open, and the cavalry were defeated easly. I knew that If flagellant brigade attacks before I do, my chaos army will have no possibilities (flagellant are so cheap that makes worth send them to a sure death)

- A lot of proyectil with powder units thats make easier to harm units

- lack of cavalry, so it is a infantry army ... is a relief. I think this is compensate with flagellants and powder

- Zelots +1 fighting against chaos. It is a thematic army also makes it stronger

- good army to take defensive possitions. Well I think as all the armies, but being a very infantry army if they take defensive positions and have the flagellant brigade to make the punch... then they begin to be a really challenge to beat them

- very fun and pleasent to build up, as all the "non official figure range" armies, takes lot of creativity. It is so a customize army.

Impressions of the battle. As chaos general I think I did my homework: move fast and attack hard in the first 2 turns. But... I attacked defended positions, so all my atacking units were repelled and killed with no much harm and difficulty.  Bad for me to attack defended position but hey! are not the chaos a great killing machine with hardhitting units and could handle this risk?    It seems not.    Witch hunters are horde army with units more dangerous than gobbos or skellies... they have humans.

Those are my general impressions, but I only fight against them once. Maybe Enbaji could make a more accurate description.
