I've got enough Chariots from the Orc Command pack to do a couple of units now. Given the stats/costs of other chariots what do people think of this?

4 attacks cause their Orks, 5+ save for the norm, and 125 points because +1 A seems to coincide with a 33% point increase (95 * 1.33 ~ 126).

I don´t know Dave....this makes it a 6 Attack-per-stand-Charging-unit at first combat round.....meaning to give them a good chance to kill the opponent within first combat round.

The only units getting that much attacks when charging are monsters and they are normaly not the fast on the way.
Allthought the point value seems to be fair if only considered unit wise in combination with the rest of the army it seems to be to cheap (but this is only a feeling of mine)

I would say....give it a try in various games and let us know ;)

When compared points-wise with other units this seems about right (Compared, say, to the Chaos Chariot, they hit a bit harder but with the Orc Command values they aren't as likely to hit as often).

Having said this if these were available in the Orc army list at 125 points per unit I'd take them like a shot, and as many as possible. They're highly likely to punch through whatever they charge (especially in conjunction with a hero or some magic) and the low cost of other units should mean I can take 6 in a 2000 point list without having a stupidly low break point. With 4 attacks they're also less vulnerable to counter charges which somewhat negates the weakness of other chariots.

I'd try them at 125 (it's not like the Orcs are the toughest army) and see how they go. Perhaps limiting them to 1 per 1000 points might be an idea?

In my humble opinion 3 per 1000 points is a lot for a "extra unit" in the army. 1 chariot could be nice to make colour in a army of 2000 points. 6 of them could be unbalanced.

4 attacks seems a lot. but could work if you only have 1 per 100o points.

Other idea is purchase a magic item (banner or weapon) and asign it to a chariot unit, then represent it with your extra nice chariots figures! I would recommend this (just an opinion)

These are identical to our lion chariots of Chrace.
Same stats but I got them to 120 points.
Got to say they are not that game breaking as they first seem and we had a limit of 2 per 1000.
As others have said play them (with different max limits) and see how they go.
But if they don't get the charge they could be a lot of point going up in smoke ;)

They come out every time I play HE so I would say about 10 times last year.
I use them a bit like I would a large monster, make a really big deal out of them (trash talk and the like) so my opponent is preoccupied with taking them out rather than concentrating on the rest of my force :)
