First Game!
« on: February 22, 2011, 07:14:08 PM »
Finally had a chance to get the dice out and do some rolling - my son Jacob wanted to play really bad (he's been eyeing the High Elves all week) so I let him play with some assistance from his semi-willing and able assistant know as General Mommy.  Just a small game to get uses to playing the game, so the High Elves end up with 565 points and Chaos with a pinch more if memory serves.  We didn't play to the conclusion as bed time took precedence over the game, but it was good to have some fun!  Here are some pictures:

Jake practicing an Elven battle cry:

Here he is telling me what he plans to do to my army:

Part of his battleline:

Making a command role:

More shots of his army:

Here is the Chaos Hero:

Shot of my Chaos Knights and my stand in Marauders:

A couple of shots from the field of battle:

Had a good time - he wants to use the Elf on the Dragon next time, so might have to make it a bigger show next time.

Good going !!

In general, the learning curve and intuitivity of the format WILL allow you to make him into a semi-capable opponent in no time  8) ::)

OK, so I must ask, how old is Jacob? Having built two of my own future opponents I'm wondering just how soon I can expect them to thrash me at wargames...

Good going there mate.
Also nice to see him indoctrinated into the ways of the Sith :)
My 6 year old daughter likes to play small games (1000 pts) now and then she has a good grasp of the rules and tactics it just gets a bit too long after a while and stops her from playing Arkham Horror :)

Ah the joy of living in a house full of geeks  ;D off to be thrashed again on the x-box :(

Jacob is turning five years in two days (02/24) - he gets pretty excited about playing games with me.  I let him help me with my last game of WWII as well - he seems to be a "lucky" dice roller as he continually seems to roll sixes.

He needs a little help, but he does a good job of following rules and listening (for the most part) to direction.

Welcome to the obsession!!!!

You'll never look back. Warmaster is such a great game that always trumps the experience of playing other systems (in my humble opnion anyway)
