Henchmen Groups
« on: June 24, 2009, 12:37:51 PM »
Hi!

We had a question concerning henchmen groups and I though best to ask here as we are all pretty much noobs in Mordheim. :)

I read somewhere that its not allowed to make multiple henchmen groups (of the same type) consisting of one henchmen only, but it also says in the rulebook that henchmen should be equiped with the same kind of weaponry and armor.

I always thought you have to fill up henchmen groups (of the same type) before you can open a new one. Meaing that 6 Zealots would be one group of 5 and a second group of 1 zealot. (who all can be individually armed and equiped)

For example I have one group of Zealots consisting of 3 men armed with 1xAxe, 1xMace, 1xSword&Shield. Is this right or do I have to equip them all with the same gear to have them in one group?

Thanks in advance!

No, it does not say that anywhere in the book that you can't have many of the same groups. You can have three different henchmen groups of one model each of the same type.

Yes, each henchmen group MuSt be equipped with all the same weapons.

Yes, you can have as groups as you want as long as you don't go over the maximum number of models for that group.

Ok thanks. I thought having 3 groups with one model each, is not allowed as that would mean that they level up individually but its clear now!

Good deal! I usually have one or two henchmen with only one model in it to help get LGT>

There are benefits and negatives to having multiple henchmen in one group, versus one henchman and multiple groups.

Multiple Henchmen in One Group:

You won't lose the group if one dies.  If one gets LGT, the group is still there as well.  This is most advantageous for groups with good advances, but that gets aspensive to replace.

One Henchmen per group:

Better chances of Good Upgrades, including LGT.

But if they die or get LGT, the group vanishes and any henchies you hire get base henchies.
