Warmaster Day, October 16 in Dover, NH, USA
« on: September 20, 2011, 06:23:00 PM »
Hello all!

This will be another Warmaster day at Elite Hobbies in Dover NH.  This is more of a fun get together to play games, trade stories, show off miniatures, and swap miniatures.

We will start at 9:00 am.  We will be able to get into the store early, because the store owner will open early for us.

I'm hoping that we get 3 rounds of play in.  I'm asking that everyone bring 1500 point armies this time to see if we can get in a full three rounds.

So far there are 4 people who will be there:

Gary -- Empire
Ed -- Daemons
Chris -- Orcs
Chris -- Dwarves

Let me know if you are coming so that I can reserve enough tables.

To Canadian players:  Come on down!  Dover isn't too far from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick or Quebec provinces!

Ed,
This is still on right?

I'll change armies from "indecision special" to Dwarves. The more ill-tempered shorties, the better  :P

Matt--

Thanks for asking!  Yes, we are still on.  9am start.

I will bring the "box of goodies" again.  I just restocked it with Empire and Undead (Tomb Kings) blisters.

Have fun guys.

Ed, Matt's bringing up the trade stuff for you. It includes the Marauders as the jury is still out on the casting setup. He might feign ignorance about the goods (this isn't an act, he actually is quite ignorant) but he has them.

Glad I stayed with dwarves. If it was 2k again I would be tempted to drag out the goblins... saves me madly painting the giants.

Second, dwarves are not short. Other races are just to tall, at least until we hack them down to size with our axes...

What DE stuff are you looking for?  I have some, but for the moment am holding it back for my upcoming DE army.

Infantry, cav, artillery, characters not on monstrous mounts. This is a long-term project of mine, so I don't need the whole thing at once - dribs/drabs and extras are fine at this point

Matt, quoting another dwarf player over on Bugmans, "The big issue is of course why are you playing elves? Do your parents know? Are they ashamed?"

 ;)

Heh - they're accepting in a disappointed sort of way. Unfortunately, in order to have war hydras, you have to tolerate all those pointy-eared sickos...

Thanks to all who showed up and played!  We were able to get three rounds in, with the all-important break for lunch.

We had an intersting mix: 2 Dwarf armies, a Chaos army and a Daemon army.

I won 2 games, 1 against Dwarfs, and 1 against Chaos.  I lost the game I played against the other Dwarfs due to a spectacularly bad decision to advance into a new combat.  This allowed all but one unit of the Dwarfs to use a fallback move to get within initiative charge distance of the rest of my army.

Everyone had a good time.  Alas, no pictures were taken.

The next one might be in November, but I am planning one for January 2012.

Thank you Ed for organizing this. Hopefully next time I can drag a few people from Maine down.

Now I just need to find some time to finish up my goblins...
