(another) New Member Intro
« on: November 14, 2011, 09:59:20 AM »

Hi All

Finally tracked this forum down, i was a member of the old GW based specialist game forums but lost track of the site when the official boards got closed, am really pleased to have found this place at long last.

Im a long time Warmaster player, though in recent years have moved from Fantasy to Historical, although my current project is a Warmaster A Song of Ice and Fire army using both Magister Militum and TB line figures, which i hope to upload some pics of soon.

Well, thats the intro over, just glad to find an active Warmaster forum.

Welcome to the forum,

I don't recognise the names of those model lines and am unfamiliar with 'A song of Ice and Fire', but I'm interested to see what you do with them.

TB Line are an Italian company with a small, but beautifully formed range of 10mm historical miniatures, here's a link to their Central European Heavy Infantry (which could easily work in a Bretonnian or Imperial army):

Whilst Magister Militum is UK based and make a huge range of historical 10mm stuff, i mainly use their Age of Knights range, which again make for almost perfect Bretonnians.

A song of ice and fire is a fairly popular series of books by G R R Martin recently turned into a HBO series ( A Game of Thrones - named after the first book in the series). So basically my project is a medieval army just painted in the various house colours.

I always thought Martin's world would be a great setting for a WM game. The Seven Kingdoms would work but I think the Free Cities or those around Slavers Bay would make for an even more diverse set of army lists. Given that they haven't been fully explored in the novels I'd think there'd be a lot of opportunity there to flesh them out via a wargame.

The latest book "A Dance with Dragons" has quite abit of info about the various Slavers Bay forces, im waiting for soemone to collate them at Westeros.org before i look at making lists.

Its beeen fun coming up with traits for the various hero's, and i have made extensive use of the Polish lists "Noble Attributes" trait.

If youre interested i could post up, or mail you my work in progress on the 7 kingdoms lists (ive also done the Nights Watch, Dothraki, Unsullied and Wildlings), i could do with some feedback, other than from my mates!

rlly curious about the 'special rules' *1, 2*, etc.
