Hi there!
I thought I should say hello, I'm a regular over on warseer and tactical command, and as well as the small scale sci-fi stuff, I also have a love of the 10mm Fantasy bits too
I started with GW games back in the early 90's, I played a lot of epic back then (before the days of LOTR and warmaster) as well as the other core GW games.
After my epic playing friends moved on, I got heavily into WFB, and played that regularly between 3rd and 8th edition, recently my love of epic scale has been rekindled and I've been building up multiple epic forces to attempt to entice my current opponents into the game
I've been finding it harder and harder to enjoy the convoluted GW rule systems, but other systems (kings of war springs to mind) while great, don't have the same warhammer feeling, and I certainly miss it. I think that's why the specialist games rulesets appeal to me so much now, great tactical complexity with streamlined rulesets is the order of the day!
One guy on taccomms has been painting up a WM High Elf army and it's inspired me to get involved with the micro-warhammer guys as well, I've collected almost every WFB army, but I've now settled on Skaven and Dark elves, I'm keen to reproduce those armies in miniature, as well as pick up some of the WFB armies I never got a chance to collect (Bretonnians and Vampires mainly)
Can anyone give me any tips on where to start? how much is my already anaemic bank balance going to suffer?
looking forward to getting involved with the community here!
