Will there be a new TOWP?

Hi, guys;

I was just wondering if there was likely to be a third Tale of Warmaster Painters? I figured now would be the time to ask, given that it is almost January of the new year.

Whether there is one or not, I will be trying to achieve my own personal goal.  Many years ago, a friend of mine bought himself a Kislev army, and I offered to paint them. Not a specific promise, mind you, just kind of an open ended thing. I painted a few units, and then we all kind of drifted away from Warmaster for quite a while.

Now that I am getting more active in the game again, and as I am planning a WM event within his driving range in March, I want to follow through on that offer as my TOWP challenge. (What better incentive to join in an event than having a fully painted army waiting?) The best part of it all is that I have the army at my place, so he doesn't even need to know about it until he opens his miniatures case!

So here is the list of figs to be painted:

Assorted characters (easily enough to run a 3,000 - 4,000 point army, but there's only about 2,500 points of figures)
4x Kislev Bowmen
6x Kislev Axemen
3x Bears
1x War Wagon
6x Kislev Lancers (I still prefer that to just calling them Knights!)
7x Kislev Horse Archers

Several of the units are already painted, but the quality is so low, and the Kislev figures are so nice that I will probably clean them up and start over, so they will match the rest of the army. Even though I only do a tabletop-level paint job, my abilities have improved over the last several years...

I will get some photos together as soon as I have the chance!

I'd also be up for it  though I pretty well know for sure that I'll fluff this one even more dramatically than the last two (my wife has just broken her foot which makes looking after the kids (a) very hard and (b) mostly my job). Shall We have a thread per month as with the last two (I can create and sticky them as we go)? Perhaps leaving each painter to introduce themselves and whatever 'goals' they wish to achieve each month by making this a super-flexible/inclusive tale?

For what it's worth, I'll be returning to my Talabheim army which needs a fair bit adding (from memory that's 2 Knights, 2 Pistoliers, 1 Helblaster, 4 Halberds, 2 Crossbow, 2 Flagellants, War Altar).

Hi Lex, what does that mean for the next Tale? Should we have a monthly thread or do we set up a collective/individual blogs?

I would say, put up blogs and have all the actual stuff there.

Cybershadow is trying to build-out on the facilities, and having the Tale on Blog will make it potentialy more accesable.

I may be being a little dim (of this I have little doubt) but I can't work out how a blog version of the 'Tale' would work in a 'communal' sense. For me the use of the tale was in motivating me to get on with stuff which it did by allowing the work of others to inspire me, by making me feel guilty when I didn't come up with the goods, and by getting some comment/feedback on what I'd done. If the blog function is detached from the forum then I know I'd struggle to get going with it (I already have a collection of stalled blogs on the go of my own).

Is there a way of making a communal blog? Also, is there any way of generating and tracking traffic? With the old 'Tales' it's been nice to see that people have been checking the threads. I know I can do this with my own blogs so I'm guessing this is true here?

Apologies if this seems rather negative, I confess to being a tired and somewhat grumpy chap at the moment (for this I blame Harry (4) and Linus (1) both of whom are under the weather at the moment and driving me scatty!).

Is there anyone who has put their name forward (Tristan, azrael71, BlackEd, JChaos) who might take the lead on getting the blog thing rolling?

I'll give it a go- I have no shortage of stuff to paint. I'm a slow painter though, and have a lot of stuff in my life at the moment which may hamper me, but I'm still keen to try.

I really want to finish off my current Orc army lot (2 Shaman, 1 Giant, 1 Wolf Riders) and switch onto 1000pts of Dwarfs (2 Warriors, 2 Rangers, 2 Thunderers, Flame Cannon and other stuff I can't currently remember).
