10mm Castle suppliers?
« on: July 16, 2009, 02:29:02 PM »
Can anyone recomend a good supplier of 10mm Castles?

My criteria are:
1. They have a reasonable online web-store which actually has pictures of their products
2. The castle walls can support warmaster stands

In addition it would be nice if:
1. They didn't charge a massive amount to ship to Australia (50% shipping is a bit steep)
2. There were options for additional parts (towers/walls/keep etc)

try paperbuildings .... some VERY nice paperbuildings that are either the correct scale OR that are brought to scale easily ...

I use paper buildings, from "susaeta"

http://www.editorialsusaeta.com/resultados.php

They are very cheap, easy to assemble, and it is funny doing it :) and a lot of variety, and I am sure that there are a lot of paper manufacters out there

Some buildings like village set are quite big, like 1:72 scale, but just cutting the first floor you get excellent 10mm buildings. (figure 1)

For castle walls I do not assemble and get walls sections to be adaptable for differents games. It is true that if the walls sections are not glue together they do not support the weight of WM units, so something has to be done. (figure 2)

If you do not like paperwork I have the " medievla Fortress cod 72004" from Miniart  and it is really cool, hard plastic. It is to 1:72 scale but for fantasy it fit really good. Maybe a little tall for historic. (If you are interested in some pics just tell me and I take some for you, I did not assemble the fortress yet ::) )

Another posibility is zvedza (1:72) hard plastic and really nice stuff

Also Zvedza and miniart do their fortress like modules to assemble and upgrade the castles

They can make anything you want. Castle no. 5 was made on my order and under my instructions (WM Medieval)
They also speak english :D

Prices are reasonable, unfortunatelly I don't know shipping cost.

Hi, I'm currently lusting after the Kallistra castle. It looks superb to me. It's here: http://www.kallistra.co.uk/. Price isn't too bad either.

Got to say this castle looks great.
I bought a plastic kit years ago and made mine but this looks great.
Hope it sells really well and they move a bit more into 10mm scenic items.
