The whole "same colour but highly contrasting shaded highlight" thing (I know what I mean) really works well with the lizardmen at this scale - Kudos to you for having the bravery to try such an unusual style and making it work really well! It's a bit like the Kevin Dallimore Foundry painting sysytem in style (which was designed for 28mm figures).

Hey David, thanks for the kind words. I am actually less brave than you might think. The highlights look less extreme  in real life than shown by the picture.

Since we are talking about basing stuff here: How many skaven would you place on a single base? There is 36 skaven in one blister in pairs of two. In the games workshop online shop they place 6x2 on one base. I bought a skaven army recently and noticed that putting so many on a single base makes it look really crowded, to the point that they almost dont fit on the base. Now, this is a good thing for skaven? Or would placing less of them be better?

I think its a matter of taste. You could 'mix and match' like Lex does e.g. some brigades are 'slave' clans and could be made up of 12 figures. Other, more "rich" clans that might contain warp fire thrower figures migth contain less figures (healthy distance between them and their mates?). I would just do a few bases and see what they look like. You could use blu tac to play around with them before you crack outt he super glue?
