I agree re the prices! Big armies of warmaster are expensive now if you buy them from GW. I bought over half of my collection back in the day when blisters were around £5-6 each though. A few times now, I've come across large bundles of warmaster at gaming shows for very low prices. The most "famous" incident in our group is when, at a show,  I saw a bin bag full of empire, khemri and high elf blisters (around 120 blisters). I casually asked how much for the lot and he said £100!!!!!! I topped up those three armies to 4K each with minimal purchases from GW. Its getting harder now, as there is less and less second hand warmaster around now. E bay still sometimes comes up trumps though, especially with people who can't be bothered to list large collections individually.

An 'average' size game for us is 4K a side. A large game is 6K a side and the largest games we play are 8K a side. We're intending to stretch to 10K though as the ultimate size game. My two largest armies are Chaos and O+G. I've got 10K of orcs and goblins painted and about 7K of chaos painted. The larger games need a weekend to play though and 3 players a side. We play on a 6 foot by 9 foot table and can leave stuff set out. No problem with the rules - if anything, the larger the game the better it seems to play with luck evening out...

Dave

Vincent, i hace seen your forum, and i really envy your armies and games, i play not vy often. Have you got your Houserules translated into english or another language (my french is worst day by day, from high school since i don't use it ), i mean with Houserules to the rules of WMA that you have adapted and those that you don't with your own touch included ^_^ (it would be great if you coyld share that with this community).

A lot of French players do not speak english well enough so we have to keep our rules in french to avoid loosing those players :( Translating them and keeping both versions would takes a lot of time and efforts. And I must confess that we prefer focussing those efforts to improve what exists already or create new stuff like campaigns and so on ;)

So we would happily share everything but that will unfortunately be in french.

The reverse is not true though :)

Anytime we find some material in english we like, we translate it to make it available to all french players.
As an example it is planned to include the translated trial tournament armies in our next version of WMMF (the Warmaster rules updated with WMA one, which is now a fully independent book on its own with army lists and everything).

Google translate may help with the French House rules to an extent.

Hi,

haven't been for a longer time within the forum, but there is no feedback for Germany so I will to it now:

In Germany there are only a few players and it is very difficult to organize tournaments.

Cheers,

To my knowledge there was a small warmaster community in India between 2006 and 2010 (1 player), another one in Indonesia between 2010 and 2012 (again one player) and now, there is one burgeoning community in Switzerland (1 player and my son - 7 years old)...

Sigh, a long history of painting and no gaming

Not sure where you are but DocDom is in Frankfurt. I played him when I visited Germany last year.

Hi Dave,

Dotcom and I know each other. He is one of the small number of active players.

Cheers,

Well the Melbourne-Geelong (2-hour travel time spread) area in Australia has a fair amount of players. I know of at least 15 players who have armies and most of whom play games irregularly. We've been gaining players lately too. Australia has a high count per capita of gamers in general I find - no matter what the game.
