Needing Clarity on the Flame cannon
« on: November 15, 2012, 02:22:34 PM »
Hello knowledgeable folks,
Im after advice regarding the Dwarven Flame Cannon.
Specificaly does it get a bounce attack?

I only ask as there is some heated "discussion" in our gaming group regarding this and I have decided to ask you good people for and independent answer.

sorry to bring this question back up, but I have the same question to clarify.

the first is, my living rulebook DOES have +bounce on the flame cannon in the dwarf army list, so does anyone know where I could get the "latest and greatest" living rulebook that no one could argue with and is the warmaster bible?

and then finally just to be totally sure on this.  2d6 shooting attacks treated just like an empire crossbowmen?  no bounce, regular armor for the opponent.  normal drivebacks.....absolutely nothing special except for 2d6 attacks with the misfire chart on doubles.

I have a question too!

If I roll a 3 and a 4 on 2D6, that gives me 7 attacks.

Now, do I have to roll those 7 attacks to see if they hit or are they instant hits?

I would use the Dave Selector as the bible.

I never seen/use bounce in flame cannon.

@Stormwind, in your case is like for this turn you have 7 in the stat line of the flame cannon. So it is needed to roll 7 dices.

Ya, the selector is slightly ahead of any published materials: typos, errors, and a few updates (Lead Belchers spring to mind). Admittedly not he best way to go about things, but I haven't had a chance yet to turn the WM rulebook into a static site like I did for EA.

Not sure which Living Rulebook you have, if it's this one:

I'd use something else, but I'm leary of any fan produced document made by a flash-in-the-pan gamer. It inevitably leads to confusion, not just on a roll of 6.

Also, I totally forgot.  in the flame cannon blister you get the second stand for the cart.  Does the cart actually deploy with the flame cannon?

I never understood this thing and since way back I actually ignored and eventually lost the horse and carriage and repurposed the plastic base.

Thanks everyone again on the help.

The cart is 100% for fun / scenics / window dressing.

The stand with the cannon on is the "real" stand, the cart I just put next to it for fun, when enemies approach I make it disappear.
