Lux Aeterna
« on: April 24, 2013, 01:36:53 AM »
This is a project I've been working on for a week or two now but have wanted to do for several years.  I call her the Lux Aeterna, Eternal Light.  The design is loosely based on Warmaster Nice's Jutland and Chubbybob's Emperor's Reach, so credit to both of them for the inspiration.  I will post better pics when I get out my actual camera so these were taken with my phone but they'll do for now.

I can also post up the Not-Yet-Playtested rules if anyone is interested, though I know Dreadnoughts usually wind up overpowered or completely worthless I'm hopping to find a mid point.  Credit to both Chubbybob (Emperor's Reach) and Admiral Rob de Bertl (Deliverance, Warp Rift 21) for inspiring the rules.

Great stuff. Far better build than anything I could do. 9/10 + 200 internets for awesomeness!!!!

My only complaint would be that the parts nicked from the navy bits are a bit "smooth" in comparison to the the BFG components. I'd of put some plasticard strips to blend the styles a bit more. Again, that's me being an arm chair builder so feel free to ignore me :D

Really digging this. Curious about the bottom keel and what exactly you fab'd there. The picture is a bit blurry (or my eyes have finally failed me)

I might see if I can get some more PC strips in there to kind of blend the superstructure a bit more.  I might try that before I get out the real camera.

Awesome dreadnought.  I love your use of the Ravenwing jetbike prow there, really gave you room to thicken out the ship properly.  I've seen a few that seemed a little too thin from the front, but she looks nicely proportionate.
