Chaos inf-brigades are among the best in the game. Use that.
Brig 1: Mar War Ogr Mar - 375p
Brig 2: Mar War Ogr Mar - 375p
They will manage almost any commers, but stay clear of no-save shooting and heavy cav brigades.
Trolls, meh, makes you fail orders more easily.
Chaos knights is the best cav in the game. But they are also very costly, so they need cannon-fodder and flank support.

Brig 4: Hou Cha Cha Hou - 250p
Marauder Horsmen is as any other light/medium cav, but for just 5p more you get a chariot. Easy choice.
About monsters, Dragon Ogres are really cool and a terrible threat for your opponent to consider. But they are
extremely costly aswell. If you prefer this kind of unit, take it, but otherwise there are better options.
Harpies on the other hand is in my opinion necessary.
Brig 5: Har Har - 130p
And then there is the dragon, as a mount for a character. Adds terror into a combat of your choice and does that almost anywhere on the field. Excellent when the combats goes as calculated, but costly when not.
For characters the general is mandatory, but whatever you do, do not mount him on a dragon. Lose the general=auto-lose the game, meaning dont take him to combat and thereby you will not get any use of your dragon. Put a hero with +1A sword on dragon instead, if you like dragons.
