Hello marell le fou

Did you check the Griff Hounds for Age of Sigmar for your griffin ?

No but I looked at the price and for me it is $40 plus postage, while the Wizzkids is $10 delivered from the US.

Thanks for the info though, will store it away in case it's needed  :)

Cheers

I'm looking at AOS Gryph hounds as mounts for demigryph knights, but not sure if they're a bit too big I've got some Old Glory Gothic Knights http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/proddetail.asp?prod=HMR-120 which with a bit of light converting double as Knights Panther and Knights of the Blazing Son. But I really wanted some on demigryphs as well. I've thought about Splintered Light http://www.splinteredlightminis.com/horu09.html but think they're a bit "beaky"
Thoughts appreciated

Those splintered light ones don't look too bad. A bit of light work with the fine file might see you right.

On a French warmaster forum there were some very tidy demigryph knights. I cannot find them there and remember them being tricky to find so maybe Marel or another of the French members on here could direct you if they know what I'm talking about. I think they used the splintered light models.

Gryph hounds look great but a little large, haven't seen them beyond pictures.

The warhammer empire generals set had a baby Griffin in it. You can see it here http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=37128.125

Found this pic of the Gryph-hounds showing their height.
Space being an issue, I've been playing quite a lot of Kings of War with 10mm Warmaster figures. You can play a decent sized game on a 2' square table or a proper game on a 2' by 4' table. In Kings of War large Cav have a height of 3 for working out line of sight. So I'm hoping as these are about 20mm to their back and then the rider will give them a height of 3  :).
3 of them on 20 x 40mm bases will then fit with warmaster and 60 x 40mm base will give me a horde in KOW. I might then just give them a potion of strength or something to explain there unusually large size.
Anyways, i've managed to pick some cheap ones up on Ebay. So I can see how they look.

Please post up some pics when you get these delivered. By the time you lop off the plastic base they might just about be right. Three on a base might be a bit of a push.

Sorry i mean 1 per 20 x 40mm base. So a regiment of 3 bases for warmaster and a 60 x 40mm base for Kings of War.

I’ve attached a pic of my knights

I know this is only half a proxy. But this is going to be my general. I made him from the GW general sitting at a table with the legs and horse of an Old Glory knight.
I just wasn’t keen on the idea of him sitting around

OK so the Gryph-hounds aren't exactly Demi-gryph size but I'm pretty happy with them. I think they scale in ok and love the models

It's a shame that they're so big, they're beautiful models!

Yeah, i agree with Stormwind, they are too big to make good demi-gryph. They are clearly normal griffin sized.

Anyway, they are absolutely great proxy for this mount, and for whatever you want to do with them. Demi-griff if you want demi-griff.

The Wizkids Griffon would be too big, in my opinion. The Griff hound is a good starting point though.

Can someone please confirm whether or not the Old Glory cavalry have separate riders or if it is an all-in-one casting?
Thanks!

What are you thinking of ? Buying 15mm horses and change the front of the fig to obtain semi-grif ? It could work... Have to find a credible front for the fig, hence.

I am thinking of adding the Old Glory rider to the Griffhound model. If riders and horses are separate it's a LOT les work.

But now that you made me think of it, maybe a headswap onto a suitable 15mm lion body might work well... then addd the OG rider.

The Pendraken Dragon Riders from their Dragonmen range have separate riders:-

Or pester them to remould their TB Line Medievals

Cheers
