What is Forgeworld Warmaster terrain worth these days?
« on: September 10, 2013, 04:26:38 PM »
I've got 2 of the Orc Village sets, 1 Orc boss hut, and a stone bridge; all unpainted and in original boxes. I picked them up at Gamesday 2001 in Baltimore, MD and never got around to painting them.

I've been looking periodically on Ebay now for a few weeks and haven't seen any listed. How am I supposed to get an idea of what they're worth if no one is selling any? :P

They'll go for big money, figure 50-100 each.

Thanks for the quick reply. Are they significantly more popular in specific countries? When I sell them, I want to stick with domestic sales here in the US to save on hassle. Would I likely be costing myself a bunch if I exclude the UK? I plan on selling through Ebay.

You'd probably get more selling them in the UK, with the exchange rate.

Do you game at Dragons Head Distributors at all? There's an Epic group down there that we (the New England crew) meet up with once or twice a year with. I know a few of them have WM armies, they don't play it as much as we do though.

I've been to their last two locations, but haven't managed to check out the new place yet.

Here are the prices i have noted.
My comments in bold.

Orc chief hutt :
181173044232 : 38$ on 12/07/2013
261078067729 : 46$ on 12/08/2012

Both correct prices. They are les sfrequently seen since those two last years, so i suppose price could up a little on ebay.

Orc Village :
251256421700 : 173$ on 14/04/2013
390502001331 : 85$ on 27/11/2012
Sold separately in August 2012 : around 35$ each.

Prices upped two years ago. I think they will sell at this price now... I think it's expensive for what it is, even if the hutts are nice. But as a collector, i won't discuss about what prices people are ok to put on stuff.

Stone Bridge :
140986603526 : 132$ on 08/06/2013
171017035486 : 25$ on 07/04/2013

First price is crazy... This bridge always sold for 30$ or less two years ago. Now it's rarely seen so prices can reach a far amount if you find the collector that will want them. It could either sell for a top price or a very cheap one... For the model has nothing exceptional if you want my opinion.

If you want to make money, try your chance on ebay with a BuyItNow option at top price... Who nows ?
And then, propose them with normal auctions.

If you want to sell them here, i would sell them respectively for 40 for the chief hutt, 90 for the three orc hutts set, and 40-50 for the bridge.

Thanks a lot for the info.  I'm still deciding how to sell them. Ebay seems to be so pro buyer right now that getting ripped off by a buyer would be really easy and I'd have no recourse or reasonable protection.

Right. It's hard to be a seller on ebay. Fortunately, all buyers are not bad guys... But here it's the same. No warranty for buyers or sellers.

If you're dealing with Warmaster collectors, I'm guessing you're probably OK. =-P

An orc village is for sale on ebay, you could wait to see what price it reaches and then decide a price for the forum. You can at least remove 10% for ebay taxes and it's generally appreciated when prices are lower than the ebay rate on the forums.

The Orc Village went for almost $80. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WARMASTER-FORGE-WORLD-ORC-VILLAGE-/261285393266?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:3160
If I were to sell my stuff individually, it sounds like $70 each for the villages and $40 for the boss hut would be reasonable. That totals $180. I'd love the convenience of selling the bunch as a group to one buyer. How does $160 plus shipping sound for the lot?

Edit: That $160 doesn't include the bridge. I haven't decided what to sell it at yet, but I'm open to offers.

Here's some pictures of the minis. Each village comes with a Totem pole and the boss hut comes with a high tower. Those are the 3 loose pieces in the pics.

And here's a pic with me included. I had to restrain Rudy, one of our busybody cats.

Oh, and the bridge.

I think 160 is a nice price, correct but not too low. I'm sure you will find someone to buy this stuff quickly if ever David do not take them.

And jchaos is right, it's a nice cat ;)
