Magister Militum Fantasy
« on: November 23, 2013, 02:32:30 PM »
Hello all!

I was trying to find some pics of Magister Militum fantasy models - especially from the point of view of their stacking up against Copplestone for LOTR in 10mm.

Now - the Orc wolf riders look really squashed and un-dynamic compared with the Copplestone ones, which is a shame.  But I really like the look of the armour of their "Greater Orcs":

Also, in the 15mm range I found these Hill Trolls, I think they look really good, and might make a nice distinction between Cave Trolls and War Trolls in an evil list:

I think the Elves would be good for a Lothlorien list as well.

Anyone have any strong opinions one way or the other on MM's fantasy? =)

The infantry are nice and scale well with GW figures.

I've not seen the fantasy cavalry, but some of MM's ancients cavalry look tiny next to GW figures. I think there are two reasons for this, GW cavalry is big and the ancients are meant to be on smaller horses. So I would check some cavalry.

The copplestone wolf riders are very nice though.

Those trolls look nice though.

Thanks for the reply!  I think that perhaps I could excuse that for the Elven cavalry? Since they are meant to be wood elves on svelte beasts.  But yeah I think I'd avoid their wolf cavalry.

Orcs are really nice , well detailed and you can mix and match the figures well . The thing for me is that they lack command figures . If they did I would buy more .

Thanks for your reply, as well.  The orcs really fit my idea of Tolkien orcs.

Hi I spoke with staff from MM , last year at the convention at crystal palace . They have plans on expanding thier 10mm range . I bought some of there 15mm orcs to use as ogers , really like them . Well detailed . I also like the look of the older15mm grenadier orcs for proxy ogers now done by merliton .
