Undead vs High Elves, some shots from a pre-holiday game
« on: January 07, 2014, 03:20:57 PM »
Ed game down to my FLGS the weekend before Christmas for a game. Things did not go well for his Undead, so it's rather fitting that I dub this the Nightmare before Christmas. We had a good time though and talked about casting and a WM Siege lot I scored on eBay for cheap (pics of that tonight hopefully!).

The Crypt Keeper on the Undead's right flank.

Skeletor on the left.

Ra Men Noodle's son, Me So Ra Men.

My Sword Masters and spearmen on the left flank.

Mr. Wizard giving the team a pep talk.

Eagon the Dragle surveying the lines.

And the right flank, held down by Commander Red Shirt.

The Undead get the roll off and advance, Ra Men Noodle moving up most of his army.

The Elves fair alright as well thanks to good commander of the heroes.

As the Crypt Keep orders up the right flank, the archers and bolt throwers exact a heavy toll on the carrion.

The Undead get caught in a bad place after a failed order and three sucessful orders from the High Elf general on Eagon.

My Chariots crash into the artillery and Giant line, while the eagles go after some archers.

After the dusts settles the Elves are down two chariot stands but have taken out 7 Undead units.

They prepare for the rebuttle.

Me So Ra Men charges a Skeleton unit into the flank, we gave them one round of pursuit and they took out the Cav. The rest of the Elves broke the Undead the next turn.

This game looks really good. Nicely painted figures and an interesting board.
The undead look really impressive all ranked up en masse! (pity they didn't perform as well).

I always think you're up against it playing High Elves, no matter what army you bring and Tomb Kings are one of the hardest armies to play well.  - it can all go so horribly wrong, so easily when you encounter elite enemy heavy infantry or cavalry!

Thanks for sharing.

Great stuff!

If I had armies painted that well I'd never let them out of the box.
