I mean, not the Mail Order Citadel white cardboard abominations but the proper old fashioned Warmaster blue and yellow ones or the Epic ones.

I've opened a couple of dozen of them so far.  It's amazing how people have let things stockpile up - there are mint copies of so many old games, it's kind of weird seeing them survive 15 years unmolested.

What also interesting to think about is that this maybe the last unopened blister of its kind

Guilty? No. I feel we owe it to the models to open them, hold them in our hands, organize them with their buddies and perhaps, one day, paint them.

Thrill? Yes. Guilty? No  :)
Especially with WM blisters, I am reminded of the cool little things GW used to do, like sculpt well, and include nice little extras such that are great for dioramas and spicing up stands of troops.

I had boxes and boxes of unopened GW blisters. When I moved abroad, I realised that they all needed to get opened up, to take up less space for storage. In total, it took me about 6 hours of opening blisters, but I missed out on the satisfaction of it as it became a mechanical process.

Ha! You're right - it is fantastic. Me and my mates joke that it is like being "Scrooge" counting his money.
I even sometimes open up my big box of unopened Warmaster blisters just to line them up and count what I've got left still in blisters, for each of the various armies.

It just makes me sad that this pile is slowly reducing and will never be replenished! :(
On the other hand, this also means more stuff to play with! :)

Guilty - no. I bought all them fair and square and now they are mine    (my preciousssss) :)

I feel guilty for hoarding because I don't mean to be a hoarder - every single pack I buy I want to get into battle someday it's just my painting is rather slow!

actually, even the blank white boxes make me always have those special moments when opening them...
its just that feeling that those things are not produced anymore, and stuff in the new and unopened condition that i am holding in my hands there is getting rarer every day...  :P

and i am with Stormwind on the feeling guilty of hoarding lol
(i have more than twice the amount of BFG ships i have assembled and done sitting around here in unopened boxes....  i swear i will assemble and paint all of them somewheere over the next years, but time is an issue  :( )
Nova Cannons are for these sissies who as a kid too preferred to throw stones at the others from a safe distance rather than closing in and get into a real fight ;D

The way I see it - I'm not profiting and reselling stuff so I'm not /too/ guilty.  I've glued the first parts of High Elves, Chaos and Dwarves and all those have seen combat.  Ideally I want to have 2000 points of each of my armies in combat before I start expanding them.  I really want to have an army for every Warmaster faction.

When I break open the blister, prepare glue and paint them -  I feel less guilty when they're painted. =-P

As I am now middle aged, I am more worried about the possibility that my eyesight will go before I get the chance to finish all my 10mm stuff!!!!

I'm in the same boat.

But.... I've just had my eyes checked and reading glasses are on the cards  :'( :'( :'(
I fear that I'll end up with too much unpainted and not enough painted.

I saw this thread and had to comment.  Just got a brand new box of dwarf nautilus' of man o'war, never opened from a guy on ebay.  I had to take a deep breath before opening it so I wouldnt tearing into it like a kid on Christmas.  I'm holding onto any of those boxes I get from these auctions to try and figure out some kind of art frame project.  I can tell how old the packaging is just because of the Styrofoam bead diameter for the tray inside the box.  much larger than it is today.

guilty? no, love it.

Hehe :) Most of my OnG's was (and still are) NIB and it's a joy opening and painting them :D
Guilty? No way - they are better off on the gamingtable :)
