An open invite to an online Mordheim campaign
« on: March 18, 2014, 07:22:14 PM »
Hello fellow Mordheim fans,

This is an open invite to join in on an online Mordheim campaign that is about to start over at The Round Table of Bretonnia.

Campaign Thread

We use a program called Battle Chronicler, the dicelog website and emails to play prolonged (not live) games of Mordheim and we are starting a new campaign. This format is great for people who can't always commit to scheduling a specific time to playing a whole game (however, there is nothing stopping you from doing so).  We will be initially running games over a one week period (so you’ll have one week to complete each game) , however if necessary we will change this to over two weeks.

Here is a link to a battle report from an earlier campaign to help you get a feel for how the format works;

Battle Report

The campaign will be story driven and set between the outskirts of Mousilon and the Forest of Arden, using all the original Mordheim rules, Empire in Flames, Blazing Saddles, Chaos on the Streets and a few house rules.
The invite is open to all, even if you haven’t played Mordheim before, the rules are all free to download and we are happy to help you get started. Any warbands will be considered, all we ask is that you post your intended warband on the thread so the players can discuss.

Please feel free to ask any questions here or on the thread. See you there  :twisted:

Very interesting battle report I didn't know mordheim played like this. I especially like the character advancement and loot, is this how necromunda plays?

It's similar yes. Skirmish games are a great way to have a mix of unit strategy and rpg style advancements.

What's the time commitment required to play? How easy is the program to use?

I've only read the rulebook and not actually played Necromunda, but from what I can tell advancement there is a lot more random- guys may get pretty od advancements for what they do. Mordheim has a bit of that as well though.

We are currently going for one game per week so probably around 3 hours per week in total. We may however change this to one game per fortnight if people struggle to finish their games in time. The software is not difficult at all to use it's pretty much jump in and go really. We're happy to help people get started if help is required.

Colour me curious
- Is this campaing still up and running or maybe a new one starting anytime in the future considering how late I am to the party? :P Can players talk to each other between games and such? Interested, but still on the fence so to speak.
