just finished play testing some of the ships for the pirate sthing i'm doing
Punisher strike cruiser: mixed results really, the melta torpedos were brilliant, unleashed them point blank after a bombardment cannon volley and the styx cruiser was gone. main batteries were a dissapointment. Fighters proved uselul in removing enemy torpedos, especially given that the Punishers were always ahead of the main fleet, therefore ideally placed for intercepting.
Oppressor stike cruiser: has done well, the forward lances and bombardment cannon combo is deadly, add 4 squadrons of bombers into the mix and this little beast can take out a cruiser on its own within a single turn (if you get good rolls). clearly needs support from other ships as this ship relies on its enemy being in the forward firing arce and in range of lance, bombardment cannon and bombers.
Antaeus fast transport: weaponry was appauling, i'm going to revise this by maybe incrasing to firepower 4. Positives of this ship; so damm fast, infact i wasn't careful and they ended up being ahead of most of the fleet and thats how they got blow away. The multiple hits worked well enough, gives it enough strength to limp through a volley of fire from an escort squadron, but not so much that you can get think "eh, it can tank through that"
