Hello!

Here are some pictures of the BFG table I made for my local hobby club.

Finally a piece of terrain I made which I am content with! :)

and here a shot of a planet (I was too lazy to paint additional details on the continents):

cheers,

Please stop posting stuff like this :)
I am trying my hardest to refrain from getting into this game and posts like this do not help.

HI!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! :)

Making the table was quite easy. The table itself existed for several years now. I don't even remember where the board itself came from, it's quite a big piece.
Well, first I painted the whole thing black. I used some kind of resin based paint, usually used on boats. That kind of paint you cannot mix with water, so you have to stick to resin based paints during the whole process.
After the black was dry (~24h), I got two spray cans (also resin-based), one blue, one red. I can't remember the name of the product, but these two sprays were excellent. I used them for the nebulas.
Then I sprinkled the stars on. Just the way it is described in the BFG books, with paint and a toothbrush. The "milky way" areas just got some more attention, and I did these spots several times until I got what I wanted.
Finally I just sprayed the whole thing with gloss varnish. That's about it.

:)

cheers,
M
