What to make out of these nids...

The wife has a whole box of epic tyranids mainly because they are cool and be fun to paint - but looking to try and organise it a bit more and any suggestions into how to make a working force would be great (not sure of the standard size games these days but remember my fledgling chaos force is only 2500pts and probably only seen about 3/4 games.)  Was looking at they tyranid V9.2.1 PDF (hope that is the latest one) to categorise it a bit at least.

I'm no expert on Tyranids, however the 'standard' size these days tends to be 3000 points, so worth aiming for that

the latest version of the list is 10.2.1 which is also the NetEA approved version and is available here

alternatively if you're UK based and ever plan on attending a tournament, the EpicUK version is available on this page it's a different take on the nids for sure, but there are quite a few people worldwide using it as they prefer it to the NetEA version

thanks that has proved to be really helpful 

both the lists have changed significantly from the one I was using and both allow a greater amount of larger nids to be fielded (which is good considering what we have kicking about.) will try and draft a 3000pt list from both sets of rules and see what can be done.

I've faced the EpicUK nids a few times now and I will say that taking lots of big gribblies is unfortunately sub-optimal for the list at present, our top tyranid player tends to stick to lots of swarms of gaunts backed up by a pair of harridans and some garrisoning genestealers

I am reliably informed however that the powers that be at EpicUK are in the process of reviewing the list and most are in agreement that the big dudes need a buff!
