With armour and faces done (in some sunshine!)

And with the start of clothing

Down to just the 1 unit now as the painting gets fiddly  :o

Not certain with the 'quilted' style arms and legs whether to do these as slashed with colour showing through, or more quilted with just shading in the lower areas?

Stripey trousers - nice touch  ;D.

I took one look at that aspect of the figures and realised there was no way these old eyes could tackle anything that fine  :'(.

I only paint the bumps on the model, its the sculptor who really makes these the fine statuettes that they are!

There is a chap with a particularly fine* pair of yellow / red sleeves, but he managed to hide behind the standard bearer!

I'm not even in my thirties and I have 2 modern lamps on my desk and even then I often find myself squinting at some fine detail or missing a bit of undercoating! =-<

More colours added - think I'm about there with most of the colours on the figures, next some highlights and washes. And need to work out what to do with the flag.

Better get these finished tonight, and hope for some decent light for a photo tomorrow!!

Can't believe the deadline has come round so quickly. (or that it has taken me 2.5 months to go from nearly finished to finished....)

The finished unit - really like these sculpts - loads of detail to look great when painted, but not too fiddly.

Nice job! Anyone know how many people entered the painting contest? I was just speaking to the sculptor yesterday and forgot to ask.

Thanks chaps.

It looks like just 4 entries for Zweihanders and 2 pikes, from counting the WMPC tagged threads.

Yes, healthy bit of competition!

Sorry that I didn't enter, ended up busier than I thought I was going to be. =-<
