The 'Tale of Warmaster Painters' Guidelines
« on: September 05, 2009, 09:01:16 PM »
The ‘Tale of Warmaster Painters’ Guidelines:

1) The 'Tale of Warmaster Painters' officially begins on Monday the 7th of September. New painters are welcome at any time (the earlier the better of course).
2) Each participant should select a single army that they’d like to paint over the coming months. Any 10mm army that uses the WM rules (official or not) is eligible. This includes armies for Warmaster, Warmaster Ancients, and BOFA.
3) Participants should aim to paint one 'selection' from their army list per week. This includes characters and warmachines. This is deliberately intended to allow several 'easy' weeks across the project. Pictures should be submitted by the Sunday of each week.
4) There will be a single 'official' thread each calendar month posted in this subforum. Each month I’ll ‘sticky’ the current month and ‘unsticky’ the previous month. Older threads will remain open to posting.
5) The first phase of the 'TOWP' will end  on the 20th of December. If people wish to continue we'll enter phase two!
6) Each participant may have a single 'Gallery' thread in which they post pictures of their work. To keep these threads clutter free please can everyone refrain from commenting there (use the monthly threads for this).

Please post any questions/suggestions in this thread.

Can I suggest that pictures are posted directly into messages using the forum tools (img tags)?  Posting external links sometimes makes for unfriendly pop-ups.

That's certainly my preference too, it makes for much easier browsing. I imagine most people know this but just in case, all you need to do is put

after it.

If you're using Photobucket you can copy the link from the 'Share' section where there's the option for a tagged URL ready made for forums.

I'm interrested in participating to next challenge. But since I'm not painting every week, I'll probably not post every week. Would that be ok for you guys? Other question, do we choose army points target freely?

You wont be the only one skipping weeks    8)   so no problem.

PW has not defined the next challenge yet.......   I think

Hi Vincent, I think we're about to kick off a much more relaxed Tale! Pretty much no-one managed a unit a week (I cheated outrageously by painting characters and warmachines galore). We were all saved by Azrael, whose crazy painting speed means that on average, if we share out his excess, we all did really well!

It'd be great to have you onboard. I'm imagining that as a twist this time we might all contribute a 'step by step' of some kind. For example, I'd love to see a step by step from Azrael that indicated his method for getting figures done at pace, I'd love to see one from Stomm on painting flesh, or from you on sculpting at 10mm etc etc. I think we've all got something to share. (Having said that I'm not so sure about me  :-[)

Well if its a more relaxed, then I think I am in too. :)  A unit every 2 weeks should be possible and would be great for the progress.

Ok Great news. I'll be in wether with current format or a more relaxed one. The "step-by-step" idea is a clever one, I'd vote for it.
In the meantime, I'll continue preparing my undeads ;)

Not really into all this 'relaxed' rubbish  ;D
Everyone undertakes this challenge as they see fit, if you can only manage a unit a month then cool, if not then also cool.
I will try and do some step by step shots but I feel this may slow down my output.
