azrael71 - Yes I have seen you blog many times before... Why do you think I started Dogs of War  ;D

pw - Those are some nice models (a little blurry) The red looks great! The hero looks awesome I might need to do a knight hero for my army now. I have to say seeing warmaster figures on warhammer bases makes me think of playing warhammer at warmaster scale... Maybe mounting a few troops per base, that would be an awesome looking game!

Does anyone on here have an old Cockatrice model?
There is no school like the old school

Angor: Nop cockatric (I don't even what looks like), but Ral partha has a beatuful hipogriffon with a scale perfect to warmaster (could be difficult to find, but I think its woth trying)

Because I cannot upload my contribution on sunday and I have already finish the homwork I'm going to upload ot now.

It is a veteran unit of infantry, with a egyptian like style blue and red with bronze as metal. Because they are undead very tougher they are few in the unit. (well the real reason is because I do not have more figures like that, but the tale is nice). I though that this unit is going to represent a veterany feature in my army.

I like the sparse bases, Jchaos, though I might throw in a pebble or two, or even some different colored flock to break the monotony of the ground itself.

Hi,

Angor this are pics of the hippogriffon, maybe is what you are searching for. If you are interested I could seek in a local store which still selling very very old ral partha stuff (rest from his warehaouse) and if I found another hipogriffon I could buy it and post to you by regular mail. I can not assure I will find it, but how knows?

Swordmaster, I have post my interrupted elf unit in Jchaos79 proyect

pw I post a pic of Karl Franz for your hero with hammer

hope this could help

Yep absolutly, a pebble could fit better. Even I thought something similar but I recognize that I was a little lazy when basing and decide to finish the unit. Thanks!

Karl Franz is the bloke on the horse, the guy on foot waving a big mallet about is 'Valten', basically he may or may not be the reincarnation of Sigmar... I've got them laying around myself, on my 'to paint when I can', IoW most likely never list...

Also IIRC these figures are no longer available, they were part of the 'Storm of Chaos' set. A bit of a pain really, as I had wanted to pick up the 'bad guys' as well, I picked up my 'good guys' at a Euro GT many years ago...

As an aside the grand Theogonist is the 'top' Warrior Priest in the Empire, so you could just use him pretty much as-is, maybe without the War Altar. Maybe some of the Witch Hunter armies out there might help provide some further inspiration on the 'burning torches and pitchforks' front...

The work on this plog is excellent.
The araby and red & white empire are my current favourites.
Keep up the great work.

@jchaos - thanks for the picture of Karl Franz. I wondered if he was in the Storm of Chaos character pack. I've been trying to get hold of the figures in that pack (well some of them) ever since I started collecting WM stuff but with no luck. I guess I'll just have to keep my eye on ebay and see if any come up.

Unfortunatly I don't have pack! I get this figure in a second hand buy mixed with other knights, as a complete surprise for me. Karl Franz and Valten are the only figures of Storm of Chaos that I have.

It is real pitty that GW do not go on with this discontinued pack.

I have in mind make a command base with karl Franz and behind him a representat of each important knight ( a blazing sun, panther, white wolf, kriesguard, etc...) but i will do it in a far future, now.... UNDEADS!!

After deciding not to make the entire army a Middenheim army because they would blend in with my already blue and white High Elves, I hit the WFB army books to come up with a new plan.  I still wanted my army to come from a Northern Empire Province so they could spend plenty of time fighting Chaos.  And I wanted a color scheme that caught my eye and would be straight forward to paint.

I ended up choosing Ostland as the main contingent for my Empire army.  Their black and white uniforms will hopefully be straight forward to paint and look pretty eye catching on the table top.  Also one of the Empire army books shows them using a red bull's head symbol so I will incorporate a fair amount of red into their uniforms which should also look nice with the black and white.

Any one know about the availability of bull's head decals (perferably red) in a small enough scale for Warmaster banners?

Some primed units.  Hey, it's a start.

Now all I have to do is paint a unit by the end of the week.

It's interesting that so many of you are either painting off the bases entirely, or with one strip on and the other off. I have found that doing this tends to result in the unit in question just enver getting finished...

Saying that though it is how I started to paint my EIR army, but I quickly based up the bulk of my infantry for an event and tried to get some units finished to a half-decent standard, if not based. Talking of which, I've located a USB lead so I should be able to get a couple of photos up somewhere over the weekend. I may as well take some photos of my existing half-finished Empire army whilst I'm at it... ;)

Probably my last update of the week (I paint more at the beginning and play towards the end).
4 Units of Bofa warg/wolf riders

2 Units of WM Wolf riders

So total painted this week is 19 Units.
Next week I hope to get my spider riders and boar riders done with a few units of bofa gobbos thrown in.

At this rate I might actually get the army done by December ;)

Not nineteen units from me. No, I'll offer a single unit and leave it at that!

Here are the first Halberdiers (I'll try and get a better picture soon and repost):

I'm not entirely happy with the transfer on the banner, it was a very old one that I picked up on ebay and it refused to go flat despite the application of plenty of microsol and microset. Still, it looks better than anything I could have painted on!

EDIT: that grass looks a bit longer than I'd like. I did trim it a little but I think the scissors will be coming out again!
