Bursting Through vs. Making Way?
« on: September 11, 2009, 06:00:01 AM »
What is the difference precisely between a unit "bursting through" vs. Making Way?

My understanding is that Making Way (I know how the movement works) makes a unit confused if you roll a 6, rolling one die per unit making way.
Bursting through causes auto-confusion -- what is the difference?

Thanks

The unit you "burst" through stays in place and is not moved.

Very handy eg. if it is in defended or fortified position ....

I'm sorry Lex, can you explain a bit more?

For example, can you choose to Burst Through, or does it happen automatically when a unit cannot move because of terrain, is fortified, etc?

Only Evaders can Burst Through friendly units.

As Lex says if you have troops who you want to stay in place anyway then being auto-confused doesn't matter so if they are in an advantageous position you may decide to have evaders Burst Through them rather than make way. Examples might be those in a defended or fortified position or perhaps missile troops who would have a target which would otherwise be obscured by the evaders.

That help any?
