In the rules it says that for a unit to charge an enemy unit you must be able to see it.
That intervening units prohibit the charge as they block LOS and the OFC charge itself.
Infantry on a hill could see the target, but if there are intervening allies then their charge is blocked.
It also states clearly that flyers can't charge a unit if allies are between them as they start on the ground and therefore can't 'see' the enemy.
I am aware that artillery on a hill can do what archers can't i.e.: Fire over intervening friends.
Because it states in advanced rules that unlike archers artillery can fire from a hill position over the top of friendly units at enemy units. So archers on a hill with LOS can't fire at enemy if friendly unit intervenes, but artillery can.
So what if the flyer is on a hill, it can see over the allied unit, it flies to the enemy, so the friendly unit doesn't physically block movement.
Might we say that Infantry on a hill with LOS can't charge an enemy if friendly unit intervenes, but flyers can?
What is the correct ruling?
How do people play it, are their any house rules?
