Any card/deckbased systems out there?
« on: February 13, 2015, 12:19:13 AM »
Some background:
1. Having surfed around the net looking at miniatures in 10mm I started looking at 15mm and found a lot of nice Sci-fi stuff that I thought would be cool to do something with.
2. I love these diorama-centered games you can find at conventions where you have basic but fun rules that lets you jump in and play a single character together or against others.
3. Mordheim and Necromunda's system for evolving characters are cool!
4. Played some Space Wolf on ipad. (Also - Metal Gear Acid on psp)

All this has gotten me into the mood of creating a 15mm diorama game to bring to conventions in Sweden where visitors can drop in and play a few games. As few dicerolls as possible. Game should play a bit like the Space Wolf-game on iPad. Look it up. Free to play but not worth to pay for extra stuff. Basically you have a deck wich contains actioncards for your character to use. Movement, shooting and such. Cards are played to do actions and new ones are drawn at each new round. It will create a bit of randomness in what can be done but it adds deckbuilding and some nice mechanics I am slowly working on. Very much in the beginning of this so I am just wondering if someone knows about any existing cardbased gamesystems with miniatures that I can try out for inspiration?

If there is any interest I can try to translate what I got so far :)
Just needed to get this idea out of my head so I can go to sleep. Cheers!

Not giving up on this just yet so I took some time to translate what I got into English. I have never created gamerules before and writing a comprehensible ruleset with everything in the right order has proven to be a daunting task.  :o

I would very much appreciate feedback on the attached .PDF. Any and all critique, thoughts and comments on what I have gotten together so far would be great.  ;D

Thanks!
