[MoW] some shots from a local con
« on: April 30, 2015, 03:14:57 PM »
Ran a game at a local con back in March. Here's some shots from that plus a slew of others:

The Empire battle line.

le Monkey's line.

Yo ho ho and bottle of banana rum.

Baron von Dave, leading form the rear.

The ships shove off.

Yar!

First blood!

The Empire admiral tried to swing around the island, the Bretonnian's just crushed their left flank.

Sail (run) away, sail (run) away, sail (run) away!

The Mortars took out a Corsair or two.

The rest of the stuff just sailed around.

A bit of close-quarters.

Shots from my Bolt Action game.

I liked those walls so much I bought three sets for my WoK terrain.

The Germans had to defend.

Thatsa lot of gabions!

My germans are still waiting.

My panzerfaust got real lucky.

This was my last one, so I had to save it.

A scale near (and dear) to my heart.

Average Camels are average.

Some shots from my Chain of Command game.

I laid down lots of suppression.

But these guys got shot to pieces when they tried to climb over the fence.

Everyone right before their tripped over the fence.

Thanks for the photos.

That hairy rug is an odd surface to play on, and those bevel-edged hexes must have been a nightmare for keeping models upright!

I can never get over just how incredible those ships look in your photos Dave.  Thanks for sharing them again :).  I so wish that I had bought Man O'War when it came out, it's the one GW game that I feel that I've missed out on.

I love the Ironfists the most.  I have a squadron of the first editions, they look like little row boats with a weird half sail.

Which Con was this? I'll have to keep this in mind next year it comes around.  Looks like a lot of nice games being played.

Glad you guys liked them.

Ya, the rug didn't do it for me. I've seen a few that look great, just not that one.

Those Iron Fists are converted from those tiny ones CJ. I basically did a prow swap with a metal war galley. The con was HAVOC: http://havoc.battlegroupboston.org/

by the way, what material are the sails?  they look like a fabric almost on the ironfists.  I regretted using just plain adhesive back paper for my pennants but I finally got them on with my new mast sprues and they look just fine.  I was afraid if I went with a clothe that it wouldn't work with the scale.

I used canvas paper.
