Greetings!

Just a quick update. Sorry for the quality of a picture. Just wanted to say that to my surprise I managed to paint that army in 2 weeks  :o
Considering the fact I paint one unit of HE per week it is lightning fast for me. I hope to get some more detailed pictures later.

Cheers! :)

You might be upto my speed soon.  ;)
6000 points of chaos in 4 weeks :) and I am taking marauder heavy ones not just loads of knights and warriors.
Great work, skaven is the best army :)

Magnificent. Do show those close-ups, I'm intrigued to see what can be done so quickly. Out of interest, how much time do you think you put into these over the two weeks?

Greetings!

Thanks for comments!

@azrael71
You are definitely an inspiration and I am glad I am able to have a comperable painting speed. At least with some armies. :)

@pw
I first tested one unit of clanrats and I painted that in approximately 1 hour. I decided it is very good and painted one unit at a time. Swarms are done in no time. Then I proceeded to monks and started to paint 2 units at a time. And was surprised again that I managed to paint it in approximately an hour too! So basically by spending 1-2 hour a day I finished this army. Let's have a look at a few examples to see if the quality is acceptable. :) My pictures are still not good enough as the colours tend to be less intense but this is what I can achieve for now. Let me know what you think.

Clanrats

Another Clanrats

Stormvermin

Swarms

More Swarms

Gutter Runners

Plague Monks

Another unit of Plague Monks

Jezzails

Rat Ogres

Warp-lightning cannons

and last but not least Doom Wheel (I really like this model :))

As an additional comment I wanted to say that I intentionally used less models on clanrats/monks/stormvermin/jezzails than provided in blisters. I think they are too crowded if used all togehter and also helped me to create more units. :)

Cheers! :)

Whilst a skaven force is easy to paint, it is not easy to paint to this standard or to make the units stand out individually, but you have succeeded on both counts.
Congrats.
(Added as I cannot always see pics whilst at work ;))

I think that's a great idea -- the double ranks look good, but in general I think the WM bases look a bit crowded.  Further, especially for Skaven, orcs, Flags, or Bret peasants, things look both crowded and well-organized, which doesn't strike me as right.

@azrael71
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate that you like them. I am glad I could learn from you. :)

@Carrington
I saw it on this forum in the case of MPetz's army. I think it is a very good idea. The more I think about it the more I want to try a unit where you place each clanrat separately to achieve the effect of a disorganised mass of ratmen. Maybe I will try it some day :)

Well, unless eastern barbarian supplies me with more little rats I think I will get back to my some shiny warriors with pointy ears. :)

Cheers! :)
