Scalie armour save?

What is ment by "This combines as normal with any armour worn" about a Scalies tough skin save of 5+?  Can this be combined with armour like warhammer fanatsy to increase the save, so Flak armour would give a scalie a total armour save of 4+?

I ask because i havnt seen mention of combining armour in necromunda before.

Another little question on scalies; does the scatter cannon really use the huge template when fired?

Yes to both.

The scalie gun is mentioned in the faq, that it uses the large blast. It's quite nice, I use it myself in my own Scavvie gang.

And the combination should be additive like you list. 5+ skin and a 5+ mesh would be 3+. Pitslaves used a similar additive scheme I believe.
