Idol of Gork battle 4 question
« on: December 24, 2015, 12:29:55 PM »
So Jo and me have now finishend two of the battles in our Idol of Gork campaign and we're having lots of fun.

Last night I went through the rules for the last game as I want to be sure to have the scènery made for the last battle. In the battlefield description, it states  "Rutgar's keep is a fixed feature of the battlefield. ... The keep county as an individual tower and troops placed in it are Fortified.

If I look up in the rulebook, I find that individual towers have a 6 X 6 cm footprint The map that Goes with the scenario seems to suggest it's bigger.

My question is first to any who've played the campaign before, but Others can obviously also chip in.
What would be a good size for the keep? It is my impression that the accompaning map was created for warhammer, not warmaster.

The point is I want to create the scènery and am looking for what is the most fun for both Jo and me. So any advice is welcome.

We are looking at doing a report of the battle, but are still collecting the pictures to create battle reports.

You're right in that the map was taken directly from the Warhammer campaign book.

A 6cmx6cm keep sounds right to me, and I'd also be careful about using too much other Fortified terrain. Fortified stuff is incredibly tough- not only do you need 6's to hit, but it can't be assaulted by Cavalry (and maybe not by Monsters?). A few 4-8cm gaps between walls will make these areas focal points of the fighting.

The Orc player doesn't get that much compensation for the Empire's fortified position in that game.
