The Steam Tank conundrum
« on: October 26, 2016, 03:22:49 PM »
Dear Community,

As I intend to use a Steam Tank in an upcoming tournament in the UK I want to be clear about the rules consensus in the community regarding how the Steam Tank actually plays.
I am aware that there has been a previous topic all about Steam Tanks VS Cannon.

So here is how I intend to use the Steam Tank, please correct me if I am wrong.

1) Steam Tank can be placed in contact with other units but cannot be ordered as part of a Brigade with them.

2) Steam Tank CAN act on Initiative. (Although rules say it must be given its own orders I can't see anywhere that it has no initiative.)

3) Steam Tank always counts as Defended, so chargers lose their charge bonus against it.

4) Steam Tank always counts as Defended so all rolls to hit (except for cannon) against the Tank will be on a 5 or 6. Cannon ignore defended status so hit on a 4 as normal.

Advice and comments welcome.

We are handling it as you say.

It is very annoying because you don't want to charge it but the steam tank doesn't charge as well.
