This is crazy! When they "re-released" it with 40k miniatures i thought "yea it figures" and now it's really back! Now i got even more dillema on do i sell my old miniatures before new beautyfull models hit the stores? I'm liking my old Escher better, but it might be due GW lately making ugly pics of minis that look good with proper paint job.

A friend gave me some of the lovely old Escher metals - the scale is wrong now with the scale creep GW do but I still love them and might bury them for an Inquisimunda project in the future.

I wouldn't worry too much about the scale creep. Humans come in different sizes anyways.

i already dug up some of my Eschers. I think it's the most complete gang i own. I even menage to grab MAd Donna some time ago.

I Also found this Mad Max dude  :D Dunno where i got him but he'll be perfect for a mercenary. This always happens i buy so much lead that I forget what i own.

There werent any plans to produce new terrain at this point since there are already 40k terrain kits out there that could function as underhive terrain.

The board terrain is for tunnel fighting and doesn't use squares, uses inches and so on, hence the templates in the base game.

I think they want to have a relatively cheap box with minimal plastic and the main gangs and rules in that you can play without gluing together buildings.  Then they hope that if you want to play normal Necromunda you'll either use your Shadow War terrain or buy some!

Basic game is for tunnel fighting, as mentioned above.

3D fighting will be introduced in a supplement ("Gang Wars" seems to be the title) so if you want to play Necro the way it's meant to be played you'll need the box and a separate book.

They did that with Blood Bowl (currently 2 supplements with more to come), which has been my main complaint with the re-releases (I can live with the scale creep).

Do you need the Death Zone supplements? I thought the team rules are free online, still?

In any case I am faintly optimistic about this one. <3

You can play with the very basic rules, though the league rules are in DZ1, and there are additions (core and optional) in DZ2.
So if you have the old rules, no you don't, but if you're buying from new then yes, you probably do.
