Modelling Ideas needed
« on: November 01, 2009, 09:59:23 PM »
I am looking for ideas to solve a number of modelling issues I have upcoming.
First off: dwarves, I need to model some miners but I am at a loss as to how to proceed, I was toying with modding a few rangers but does anyone know of an alternate supplier of a comparative range (not 12mm plus like kallistra et al).
Then comes a goblin hewer along with wannabe young troll slayers same again really.

I also could do with some crew for my albion chariots. I have bought kallistra chariots and the horses and chariots are fine but the crew are too big! So any ideas? I am going to use some BOFA stuff, but I do not have enough of them to make up 6 units of chariots.

Any help/images will be much appreciated.

Pendraken norman range - light crossbowmen, has this figure
http://www.tridentebologna.it/dettagli_I.php?id=TB4143

You could do the following conversion:
Cut the legs to knees high --> now you have a dwarf size human.
Model with greenstuf the beard --> now you have a dwarf
Paint the crossbow (sculpted in a awkard direction) as a mining pike --> now you have a miner dwarf :P

I do not have the figure, this was an idea that my brother gave sometime ago seeing pendraken pics, but think it could work.
I  have cut legs of pendraken sassanid persians and put beards (with milliput) and recall dwarfs.

About the other figures.... I do not really understand what you want, so I will take the dictionary :)

hope it helps

Dwarf Cannon crew works great as Miners.... model some wheelbarrows on the stand and some "holes" in the ground and everyone will pick up on that easy

Great, just after I given all my spares away :(
So does anyone have any spare dwarf artillery crews?
Looking to make around 4 units (12 stands).

Azrael I am afraid I have not artillery crew to spare.... but crossbow dwarfs from irregular miniatures could make miners if you paint the crossbow as a pike. I give you two pics, they are not too good photograph but the dwarf is holding the crossbow down, so it seems like a pike.

How a albion charioteer looks like? If it is celtic fashion, maybe irregular celtic chariots could cover your need. The charioteer do not have too much detail, and is a little small compared with GW figures. It has two men cast in one piece. And they are cheap.

If you are interested, ask and I could take a shoot compared with some GW figure :)

I think pendraken also have briton chariots, but I do not know how are the figures

Pics would be good.
The chariots are pendraken/kallistra but the crews are just too large for my tastes.

Here it comes the pics

My figure of chrioteer has a cast defect, so the sword is not filled enough, should be a little longer in a OK cast. My celt seems to carry a knige :)

Hope you can see properly the two charioteer in the pic, if you do not identify (because is bare metal), do not hestite to ask and I will imprime or wash the figure and take another shot.

I have try to compare with some very known GW charioteers and also chariot.

hope it helps
