Greater demon and siege
« on: November 02, 2009, 03:15:30 PM »
Hi,

Just thinking that if the great deamon is a monster with 8 attack. Can he attack ramparts or gates as the same way as Giant do?

In the rulebook says that only the giant (not bone giant) has this capacity, but when that was written there did not exist the daemon list. Maybe I am linking ideas, and it is clearly that only the giant can attack with his club... but I would like to ask you what do you think.

 ???
I do not understand, sorry  :)
That means that you do not think the greater deamon could attack a rampart or a gate?

It means that only the giant is allowed to attack ramparts or gates because of magical protection on the fortifications.

It does, but its also a joke, well sort of...

As far as the rules actually stand only a giant can do these battering attacks and attacks against troops on the ramparts. As to whether the rules should be changed to allow other units, monsters or otherwise to do these things, well that can of course be debated...

Everyone is dancing like a cat on a hot tin roof....

Warmaster Playtest Team is currently reviewing/revamping Siege material for the next issue of Warmuster. For now just hand this to the giant   8)

Allowing "other" badly hurtable units the same abilities is an item under discussion. In my honest opinion (and thus advocating only one part in a multi-POV-discussion  :P) "other" units hould be "upgraded" to become Siege-equipment ......

While "officially" only the Giant can currently attack walls, gates, ramparts, I think the idea of a Greater Demon or Stegadon smashing walls, etc sounds cool.  I'd definately use that as a house rule.

I'd probably limit who/what can attack troops on ramparts based on model size, but having other powerful creatures able to damage structures works for me.
