Couple of questions about high elf and dark elf shooting in revolutions. I notice there have been quite a few changes in the wording relating to these shooting units since the GW print rulebook, and some of the re-wording is obscure to me.
1) Does all high elf shooting get +1 to hit?
In print rules reavers and archers were directly named/footnoted as +1 to hit, and there was a note on the elven bolt thrower (both in list and core rules). In revolutions the footnote is only on archers, but the wording has been changed to refer to ‘High Elf shooters add +1’ suggesting it applies to all high elf shootings, not just the archer unit? However, the Reavers have lost the +1 footnote. The elven bolt thrower has also lost its +1 footnote and lost the +1 in the core rulebook.
So which is it? All high elf shooters get +1? Or only elf archers get +1?
(The heavens fire spell still says ‘as High Elves normally get a +1 and therefor hit on 3+ against targets in the open’ again suggesting that all shooters get +1, despite the fact it appears to have been deliberately removed from reavers and bolt throwers! This seems like something it should be easy to be specific about in WM – either give them all the footnote, or give them an army wide rule like daemons, or remove contradictions?)
2) Are dark elf both throwers ‘elven bolt throwers’ or ‘bolt throwers’ ? The revolutions armies book says they are ‘bolt thrower’ but they have the stat line and cost as elven bolt thrower’ suggesting they are elf bolt throwers … these are two different classes of artillery in the core rules! (And model wise in WFB at the time both were similar)
any help appreciated, cheers
