Adepticon 2019

Just want to shoot it out there.  I am hosting a game for man o'war at the upcoming adepticon.  Friday night, 29th of March.

If you need a fleet, let me know and i can provide if i know in advanced.  It will be a free game to play.  Hope to see some of you cut throats there!

I'm game. I was looking at Space Hulk or another Necromunda in that time slot but MoW would be fun. Let's start Eric a little closer than we did two years ago though, so he get start shooting stuff sometime before three hours into the game...

Adepticon is really frustrating me.

I filled out their huge long form to submit and then it would seem, they re-typed the whole thing.  I ended up not saving it but I typed out a whole description including the facebook page url and some more information so I could just copy and paste into their form without any errors, BUT all for not.

I really have 3 total rule "bends", in case we can actually play out a tournament of sorts (6+ players)

1.) Defensive fire will only occur when boarding actions are announced with fliers and monsters.
2.) Orc spells will not be canceled due to pulling an event card but all events will act immediately as activated
3.) (do not have the citadel journal rules on me right now)One of the high elf specific magic items, the damned sphere of something or other, all rolls for the enemy fleet ship are +1 from the rules.  EX: So if a ship needs to roll a 5+ to move that turn, they actually just need a 4+ (further details tonight when I can look at the actual rules).

These three rules have been widely agreed upon in the French community for a good number of years.  Not sure if they are official to them but that's how I am doing it

As per #3 above, the damned sphere of caltahari.  The target ship must roll a 5 on a D6 or be immobilized for the turn.  To fire, the target ship must roll a 4, 5 or a 6 on a D6. An admiral aboard adds +1 to these rolls, where a wizard aboard or equivalent (such as a dwarven runesmith) allows the player to re-roll the dice once.

It is with great pleasure that I can announce we have enough people signed up for man o'war Friday night at Adepticon for a 3 game tournament! 

Please bring a copy of your fleet roster for me to verify and to show your opponents (see back cover of original rulebook for the game). Man O'War cards will be assigned at the beginning of the tournament and not randomly assigned for each game. I will have the scenarios for all players when you arrive.

If you need a deck of spell cards, I have 1 deck to loan but we may need 3 at the same time so if you can bring a deck to share that would be very helpful.

I took a laser cutting class last night and was planning on making up some of the templates in acrylic.

a laser cutting class......here are the gas canisters, make sure they are open and not empty.
here is the manual for gcode you wont ever use.

here is the software program, I don't know how it works, you figure it out.

that's how it went for me, twice.  And at both jobs I had that owned a laser.

I am currently working out my scenarios and making up my khorne fleet.  I needed another squadron of ironsharks and taking a look at my bloodships I decided to re-paint one.  The "Goof Off" confirmed, I don't think the previous owner used primer.  ha
It cleaned up so nicely like there was never any paint on it to begin with.  Drilled out the masts as well.

Terrain will just be re-created from the original packaging.  For the next 10 months ill be probably making up some terrain for 2020 Adepticon.  I also just finished painting up 2 warmaster chaos chariots middle of last month for that tournament.

Make sure Eric knows to polish his dwarf guns!  They will be busy this year at adepticon.

With just under 1 week to go, things I will be providing.....

Everyone will have a range ruler and turn template.  each table will have a wind compass and a high elf range ruler.  My deck of Man O'War cards.  All terrain and any scenario specific templates or terrain.

I will be bringing my deck of spell cards, though, I encourage you to bring your own.
You will need to bring your fleet models, your templates, your dice and any specific bits your fleet roster will need, such as a hawkship turn template if you have hawkships.  Bring a copy of your fleet roster for me to verify as well as for your opponent to see before each match.  Bring a copy of rules for your own use as well as any citadel journal rules you wish to apply

I am not bringing anything extra as no one has asked.  If you need something please ask, I can help and provide as much as I can.

I will be posting my pictures from the event later tonight    still getting my life back in order after the weekend  LOL

As for battle reports, I don't think I could make some for other's games but I can surely do it a quick one for my first game.

We had a passer by who used to play when he was a kid and the game was brand new, he lives in California and was very excited to play.  We had only 5 of the 6 players show up so I decided to play him in the second game.  It was my khorne fleet straight ahead against a dwarf fleet he was borrowing.  I didn't do anything fancy with my khorne blood ship and it was soon swallowed up by a dreadnaught and 2 ironclads with the Slaanesh hellship not doing enough, soon enough, to help out.  Just wanted to get to fighting as soon as possible and get the guy excited to start playing again when he gets back home. 

We all got to a slow start for our first game and with only 5 players instead of 6 we only played a total of 2 games.  We should have played 3 at least.

Plenty of people walked by and had a good sight.  My biggest hope is to make a few more players and we will see come next year. I definitely brought an old player in out of the crowd to play me, he was San Francisco and hopefully will play again. 

The worst was the damage to fleets during transport, I hate to see that and I hope it doesn't deter anyone from coming back.
