Warmaster Fortress
« on: June 13, 2010, 09:33:05 PM »
I am looking for a model fortress where
the walls pieces are in 12cm (or 4cm) long and deep enough (2cm) to hold 1-3 stands of warmaster infantry on the wall
with towers 4cm by 4cm wide (to hold 2 stands of warmaster models)

any idea?

check Kalistra model of fortress. Made for 10-15 cm but suits warmaster very well.

The Zvedza fortress is more for 20+mm models. Had some parts of them.
I can recommend the Kallistra pieces. They fit perfectly.

Or you wait some days for the next Warmuster issue - It's about Sieges and there will be an article about building a Fortress effectivly fast and cheap.

Download the models from WotC (the D&D people) available here, scale to match 10mm, print & build what you need.

Cheers, Martyn

that is great.

any idea where i can also just get a print out of a stone wall? cause i can easily build a fortress out of paper/foam but the stone appearance would really enhance its look

Miniart castle/fortress is better (but more hard to assemble)

That is what I own (both models) took me an entire night to construct it.
I.E. 7pm to 7am  :-[

But it is a very nice castle/fortification.

Hi Azrael, from the pictures on the internet that castle looks the business (better perhaps than the Kallistra one). Is there any chance of getting some pictures of yours alongside some WM toys to see how it works?

Please!  ;D

EDIT: Is this the castle that features in Warmuster #2? If so, is it possible to build it to be 'modular' to allow for various layouts?

This is not the castle pictured in Warmuster #2. I did the (Sandstone) Warmuster castle myself.
I made some moulds and poured the walls with plaster. But I admit the mini-art castle looks similar.

Nope, my fort is in the magazine, but it is not one of the main ones.
It is modular so you can set it ip in different formats.

Thanks. Glad to hear it's modular, very handy. Azrael, which page(s) shows your castle?
