[WM] Warmaster Tournament in Dover, NH, USA
« on: October 06, 2010, 01:48:49 AM »
Hello all!

I am running a Warmaster Tournament in Dover, NH, USA on January 15th, 2011.  The tournament will start at 9:00 am and go until 6pm.  There will be 3 rounds and break for lunch.  Players will also vote for the best painted army.

Please bring a 2000 point army, and 3 copies of your army list, and two objective markers on round bases.  Any of the armies published in the Armies List or the Trial Armies list will be allowed.  However, High Elf and Daemon army players are asked to use the tournament lists published in the Trial Armies document.

Please email or PM me if you would like to attend.

The cost to play is $5 USD for prize support.  Suggestions for prizes are welcome.  My first thought is to have a number of Warmaster blisters for prizes.

Hope to see you there!

Interesting- my parents are only a hour away in Maine...

How many slots do you have, and how many do you think will show?

Fracas: No snickering from me.  I have a wife, and I know what you mean.  :)

Right now there are 14 open slots, no one is officially registered as of yet.  But I believe that 2 folks will register soon.

Weather in NH in January is likely to be cold and windy.  Temperatures in the 20's (Farenheit), with a breeze making it seem cooler.  Sometimes there is a mid-January thaw, when temperatures get above freezing and lots of snow and ice melt.  If there is no thaw, there will be lots of snow.  In some places, it might even make the landscape look beautiful.

I think we will have time for 3 rounds.  I will be able to open the store early and keep it open later.  I'm not sure what to offer for prizes, since I assume most folks would like Warmaster blisters and the store does not have any on the shelf.  The store does carry WH40K, WHFB, flames of war and lots of models.  So if any of you have a suggestion, please let me know.  I am considering dipping into my own inventory to offer Warmaster blisters as prizes.

There is a bar two doors down, and a pizza place at the other end of the block thst serves decent pizza and also beer.  This being a proper New England city, there are finer establishment not far from the store.

I'm hoping to jump start interest in Warmaster again.  In New England, I mean.  I figure if some one over here tries to organize gatherings, more folks will dust off their old collections and play.

As for the tournament itself:

I will also ask players to bring two objective markers, appropriately themed for their Warmaster armies.

I hope to see you there!

Mine are usualy on a bigger round or square GW base, but I also used FlamesofWar objectives     ::)  and the smaller type of CD's you sometimes get as also prety nice to work with.

Any size between 25 mm and 60mm.  The two Chaos objectives that I made are 40mm and 60mm round bases.  The objective markers I'm making for the Cthulhu Daemon army are based on 40mm bases.

I will post pictures of what I've done.  They don't need to be fancy but you need to know that they are yours!

I edited the first post to have all the up-to-date info.  Significantly, the date is January 15th, 2011 (a Saturday).

If you have suggestions for prizes, please let me know either here or in a PM.

4 slots are claimed so far.  The armies are: Dwarves, Tomb Kings, Orcs, and Empire.

Definitely interested in heading up for this, I'd have to borrow an army though or get one built up. We'll see how Nov/Dec go as I'm trying to get the rest of my Tyranids built as well for Epic: Xenos.

What are you interested in borrowing?

I'm probably flying, but I am sure someone else can lend you an army.

Probably High Elves, but if I'm borrowing I could be persuaded to take Orcs if people are interested in having me berate some Goblins throughout my games.
