Athel Loren - Scenarios
« on: June 22, 2009, 05:13:01 AM »
So, here are the already existing scenarios that might be really good to add in:

WOODLAND SCENARIOS
Empire in Flames:
~Bounty Hunt - fight outside of a bandit's lair, while they pelt you with crossbow arrows. Fits the 'bandit' theme of the Bowmen or the Hunters. (Or make it a Wood Elf outpost)
~Lost in the Bogs - the highest rated warband starts with his men scattered.
~Thing in the Woods - uber creepy woods, and something stalking them. A classic.
~Ambush - one warband traveling down a thin trail, while the other ambushes. Knights never ambush, but can be ambushed.

Lustria:
~Fog of War - -4 range, -1 m (to be honest, though, we could possibly do our own better, or just have 'night' scenarios, using the Relic rules)

Nemesis Crown:
~Wild Wood - spites move around, randomly casting nasty spells on the models

Border Town Burning
~Tainted Copse- the woodland terrain randomly moves about each turn, plus twisting and switching places (with models on the terrain moving with it.)

Sylvania (Brahm)
~The Wicked Woods - The terrain moves about, but inflicts damage on any who come into contact with it.

Pancreas Boy
~The Sacred Tree - The attacker starts around a sturdy, trying to knock it down. The defender starts at the edge of the board, trying to catch up and save it.

Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe
~The Nest- Hidden treasure, but with a gargantuan spider's nest. Can't find the rules online, but I'm sure we can fudge it.

OUR OWN
~Stop the Treeman
~Weather Scenario
~Scattered Seeds - Clear field, with X number of acorns spread out. Each turn, a random one is turned into a tree clump, as the demonic seeds takes root. No effect on acorns in a hero's possession (although, if the hero is taken out of action, we can roll to see if the acorn is safe, or whether it took immediate root)

As far as raiding other people's areas, the following make sense to me:

ANY AREA
~Frenzied Mob (EiF) - this only works with NO defending warband, but 2+ raiders
~The Raid (EiF) - the raider tries to set fire to the village. Alternate: 'Defend the Village' from Archive Pestilans, which has cowardly villagers bolstering your warband (both helping and hurting it.)
~encampment raid

RAIDING 'EVIL' AREA
~The Beast Hunt - EiF

RAIDING BRET
~Nightfall (Nem Crown) - Sneak into the city, over the wall
~Siege (btb) or Urban Siege (Extended Campaign Rules- Eddie Barns)

Ok, looks great. I'm really hooked on night fighting because it makes Close Combat much more viable than ranged combat, which is what we want from this setting.

I really like the treeman scenario here are my ideas:

Any flaming attack will cause double wounds on the treeman, if they hit roll a dice on a 4+ (5+?) he is set on fire and suffers one wound each turn.
Apart from that he will have huge stats. Something like:
Code: [Select]
M WS BS S T W  I A LD
6  5    -  6  7 10 1 4 10

So we have some huge übermonster which is kindda vulnerable to fire, and the objective could be either knocking it down, or collecting something that it aims to protect. Another option is to make it weaker and let it help a defending wood elf warband when they are raided, or we could do both?
Meep Meep - Master is Back!

<Insert some random quote about duct-taping sheeps to head (thanks Styro) or any other weird stuff>

Do you guys remember the West Gatehouse Scenario that was posted on the last SG forum in scenario area? If not, in Mordheim fluff there is a Great Oak that is alive that kills all those who attempt to pass through the West Gate.

Let me know I can find and send to you.

West Gate: I do have it, actually. A killer tree with 'Saplings' all around it.  Awesome. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Flammable: So far, I've seen, like, a dozen different rules for attacking flamable models.  I'll try to post all of the different variations and we'll pick one. Sound good?

The Nest: wow, it looks fantastic.  You said it was 'pitfightertrainer' who came up with it? I'll make sure to credit him if/when we publish it.

Definitely a tough one, though. I'm sure the Slayers will have a field day with it.  Maybe throw in a rule/bonus for the Forest Goblins, like 'Any Forest Goblin Warband that took a spider out may purchase a Giant spider/Gargantuan spider for 25% less, and with +5 to the rarity rolls."
