The Hill Goblins could perhaps come on the strip (if you do strips)
Yup I'll probably do strips for the little guys actually, so no need for extra ones there.

2 Rhinox Riders
1 Gorgers - to pursue cavalry etc.

2nd list

Butcher
4 Bull Ogres
2 Leadbelchers
2 Ironguts
2 Rhinox Riders
1 Slave Giant
3 Gnoblars

3d list
Tyrant
2 Bruisers
Butcher
4 Bull Ogres
2 Leadbelchers
2 Ironguts
1 Rhinox Riders
1 Slave Giant

3 Gnoblars

BTW - instead of making different standard bearers for each unit type you may make one common bearer with empty banner pole +  3-4 variants of different banner tops.

This would probably my first preference for an Ogre list so models I would look for seem pretty well supplied by Mr E&C:

Warmaster Army Selector
Ogre Kingdoms Army, 1965 points
Warmaster Trial Armies Compendium 2009
----------------------------------------------------------------
4 Bull Ogres
2 Leadbelchers
4 Ironguts
6 Gnoblars
1 Rhinox Riders
1 Tyrant
1 Bruiser
1 Butcher
----------------------------------------------------------------
1965 - 17/9

I've PM'd Vincent to ask if he'll promote this on the French forums, hopefully he will and we might see even more interest in Ogres.

One question - can I ask about timescale (apologies if it's been mentioned). When do you think you'd be likely to release the models (purely so I can start looking forward to it).

Oh, and I'd buy a full 2000 point army (so the basic £60 set plus another pack of Ogres at the very least). I'm also happy to pay the £60 + postage upfront if that helps you out.

pw's mix looks good, though instead of a dedicated army commander I'd include a mounted commander.

That's an excellent idea, it's look very 'commanding'.

I'd say January at the soonest. Possibly later - this is a rather large sculpting job, creating an entire army from scratch.

It seems a shame to shoot down the offer of cannons / launcher or big mammoth monsters because they aren't on the army list. =-P

EDIT Accidentally a word

These?
Quote
- Large cannon or catapult dragged by a woolly rhino
- Woolly Mammoth ridden by an (high commander) Ogre
If wave 1 sells well, I will certainly make these... they're the really fun bits!

I don't really view myself as bound by what's in the Warmaster army list - I'm more looking to make a set of cool Fantasy Ogre models, and I think big creatures like Dragons, Manticores, Mammoths etc. should be part of the Fantasy experience.

Mind you, there's still 2 pledges to go to fund Wave 1, so I won't count any chickens just yet. :-)

I could imagine the list developing in line with cool models.

Are you able to do a size comparison with other wm figures?

See attached:

One picture is a rough comparison for size (I just eyeballed a picture I found on the internet), the second picture is probably more useful, 3 Ogres on a 40mm x 20mm base.

Cool, thanks. They look really very fine indeed. It looks like they're about the same height/size as the current WM Ogres.

1 more pledge and I'll do it!

In the Kickstarter tradition here are some "stretch goals":

12 pledges - Strips of Lesser Goblins
14 pledges - Large Cannon & Large Catapult, dragged by Woolly Rhinos.
16 pledges - Monstrous Woolly Mammoth + Ogre Riders (Commander & Wizard rider options)

Only word of mouth will make this happen. :-)
